We just wanted to drop a quick reminder that trash pickup is happening tomorrow morning. Make sure to get those bins out to the curb before the truck rolls by on Monday!

Also remember that recycling day is scheduled for this Tuesday. It is so easy to lose track of the schedule during a holiday week. Let’s get everything sorted and ready to go so the neighborhood looks great! 🚛 ♻️

📢 Attention Campus Hills Neighbors!

DID YOU KNOW??

📢Have you noticed uneven sidewalks or shifting concrete panels around the neighborhood? These have become serious tripping hazards, posing a real safety risk to our kids, walkers, and joggers.

A quick reminder: in Baltimore County, property owners are responsible for maintaining the sidewalks adjacent to their property in a safe condition. Fortunately, the county offers a helpful program to make repairs much more affordable.

Here are the details on the County Sidewalk Program & Financial Assistance:

Discounted Concrete Replacement:
*Sidewalk replacement through the county costs $6.50 per square foot, which is significantly lower than average private contractor rates.
*Driveway Aprons: If your driveway apron also needs attention, it can be covered through the program at $9.50 per square foot.
*Interest-Free Financing: Eligible homeowners can have the entire repair cost added to their property tax bill and spread out evenly over up to a 5-year period, interest-free.🗓️

Please Note: The county program typically has a waiting period of up to one year for completion. You always reserve the right to hire a licensed private contractor at your own expense if you prefer immediate repairs.

Get ready for the morning parade! In just a few short weeks, our neighborhood streets will be buzzing with the awesome energy of kids heading back to school. There is nothing quite like the fun of those first few weeks—spotting the brand-new outfits, seeing backpacks that look twice as big as the kindergartners wearing them, and hearing the morning giggles as friends reunite at the bus stops. Whether they are trading summer stories on the sidewalk or racing to get the best seat on the bus, it is a wonderful, lively time for our community.

As we welcome this wonderful time of year, let’s work together to keep these morning and afternoon journeys safe for everyone.

Stop Completely: Come to a full, complete stop at every single stop sign.
Slow Down: Watch your speed closely through all neighborhood streets.
Stay Alert: Expect the unexpected, as excited children can sometimes step off sidewalks.

It is time to reclaim your space and say goodbye to the clutter holding your home back! Mark your calendar because Tuesday, September 8, 2026, is your official Baltimore County Bulk Trash Pick-Up Day.

Whether it is that broken sofa in the basement, an old mattress in the spare room, or outdated appliances taking up valuable garage space, this is your perfect opportunity to purge those heavy items for free. No phone calls or special reservation emails are required for single-family homes—the county trucks are coming straight to you!

Here is how to prep for a seamless, stress-free cleanout:
Timing matters: Place your bulk items outside after 6:00 PM on Monday, September 7 (the night before collection).
Placement is key: Set your items out in the exact same location where your regular trash and recycling bins go.

Check the guidelines: Make sure your items meet the official Baltimore County Bulk Item Regulations regarding size limits and acceptable materials.

Hello Campus Hills Community,

I wanted to take a moment to address the elephant in the room.

For a long time, driving past the roundabout at Providence and Southwick every morning meant looking sadly at the overwhelming w**ds that had overtaken the space. While many of us have seen dedicated community members out there trying to clear it, we all know that doing this on such a busy roadway is incredibly dangerous. We deeply appreciate every single volunteer who has risked their safety and given their time to clean the area.

Please know that while the roundabout was falling into disrepair, Campus Hills had not forgotten or given up on this space. We have been actively working behind the scenes with Councilman Mike Ertel and his office to address the issue and establish a long-term maintenance goal.

The Councilman’s office has been working tirelessly, fully sharing our concerns. They were just as worried as we were, knowing that every corner of Towson represents all of us, and that Campus Hills and our surrounding neighborhoods take immense pride in where we live.

I want to extend a huge, personal thank you to Councilman Mike Ertel and his dedicated staff. It means the world to have a representative who doesn't just listen to our community's concerns, but actually rolls up their sleeves and takes action to get things done for us.

During our National Night Out event, the Councilman’s office came out to personally deliver the news that the roundabout was finally scheduled to be cleared. Well, "cleared" turned out to be a massive understatement!

On Wednesday afternoon on my commute home, I traveled down Providence Road and saw the most beautiful sight. Not a single w**d was left standing. Normally, you could see the overgrowth from halfway down Providence Road, but the Department of Public Works did an absolutely amazing job cleaning it up.

I know many of you are wondering what happens next. While Councilman Ertel's office continues to finalize a sustainable, long-term plan for the space, we can—for now—look out our windows and feel proud of our beautiful, cleared roundabout once again.

Thank you to Baltimore County Councilman Mike Ertel, DPW, and everyone who spoke up, volunteered, and helped make this happen!

Hello, neighbors!

What an incredible National Night Out! The board is still smiling from an evening filled with community spirit, friendly faces, great conversations, and absolutely awesome food.

A huge thank-you to Lyfe Acia II for the refreshing fruit cups — the fresh fruit and granola were perfect for a hot summer night. Mission BBQ once again delivered outstanding food and wonderful customer service. Please continue supporting these local businesses throughout the year.

We were also thrilled to welcome an outstanding group of vendors who generously shared their time, resources, and expertise with our community. If you missed a table or want to learn more, please reach out to them for services you may need now or in the future.

Baltimore County Code Enforcement helped us stay “up to code” with helpful guidance on violations and how to avoid them.

Allfirst Realty and First Home Mortgage opened the door to smart home-buying and selling conversations, with local expertise that really hit home.

Remodeling MD helped neighbors build on their ideas, from small refreshes to big home-improvement dreams.

The Master Gardeners, Herring Run Nursery, and our Campus Hills Tree Stewards helped our community grow with tips on native plants, beautiful landscapes, and environmental benefits.

Sawdust and Sparks definitely sparked interest with handcrafted woodworking pieces that were a cut above — perfect for gifts or a treat for yourself.

Avon brought beauty to the block, sharing wellness information and products from a well-known beauty brand.

Our Campus Hills Citizens on Patrol reminded us that safety is a neighborhood watchword. If you would like to be an extra set of eyes and ears, we would love to have you join the patrol.

Turnbull Brockmeyer Law Group laid down the law — in the best way — with great swag and helpful legal resources right here in Towson.

Moms Demand Action brought safety to the forefront, sharing important gun-safety resources with friendly, welcoming smiles.

K9 Avenger had everyone paws-itively excited! Baltimore County’s first facility K9 was truly a crowd favorite.

Cub Scout Pack 1742 and Boy Scout Troop 742 started the evening on the right pledge with the color guard and Pledge of Allegiance, then kept the fun scouting ahead for the kids.

Chantal and her team kept the crowd moving and grooving with two full hours of Zumba. Want to make a splash? Catch Chantal at Campus Cabana Swim Club this Sunday morning for Aqua Zumba.

The Baltimore Fire Museum really fired up the evening! The antique fire truck rolling up Southwick Drive was a showstopper, and the museum makes a great local, family-friendly afternoon outing.

Most importantly, we want to express our deepest gratitude to our first responders. National Night Out is a celebration of community, but it is also a reminder of the dedicated men and women who show up for us every day — often quietly, often behind the scenes, and always with a commitment to keeping our neighborhoods safe. Thank you to Baltimore County Police Department, the Sheriff’s Office, Towson University Police, and Towson Fire Department, and Providence Volunteer Fire Company of Towson Maryland for your service, your time, your presence, and the care you give to Campus Hills and the surrounding community. We are truly thankful for all that you do.



And of course, the heart of the evening was YOU — our neighbors, families, friends, and volunteers who came out to celebrate together. Thank you for filling the night with laughter, conversation, kindness, and the kind of community spirit that makes Campus Hills feel like home. Whether you stopped by for a meal, visited a vendor, danced along with Zumba, waved to the fire truck, or simply spent time catching up with neighbors, your presence helped make the evening meaningful and memorable. We are so grateful you were there.



And we are just getting started! Planning for National Night Out 2027 is already in motion, and we would love for next year to be even bigger, brighter, and more memorable.
