This past weekend at Mt. Gregory United Methodist Church in Cooksville, we brought the energy, shared essential CPR awareness, and connected with so many amazing people. A huge shoutout to Howard County Fire & Rescue for joining us and everyone who came out to learn how to save a life while enjoying the cookout!

Rain or shine, the mission doesn’t stop.
   
When our original shipment of books arrived completely destroyed by rain, it felt like a heavy setback. But opening this brand-new box today brought so much joy and gratitude.

I have to share this because I still can’t stop thinking about it.
Toward the end of my interview at Friday night’s book signing, the moderator asked me:
“Why 8 minutes 45 seconds? Why is that time so important?”
And I explained exactly what I have been saying since losing Bailey:
No one is exempt from learning CPR. Sudden cardiac arrest does not discriminate. Being prepared could make the difference between life and death.
I talked about how hesitation creates delay—and when someone is in sudden cardiac arrest, delay can cost a life. Every second matters.
And then…not long after I said those words, one of our guests suddenly became unresponsive for a few seconds.
Immediately, people moved.
We placed the individual flat on the floor. Someone went for the AED. And YES—the venue had an AED. 🙌🏾
We were getting ready to respond.
Thankfully, the individual became responsive and is doing well. 🙏🏾❤️

But THAT MOMENT!
At an event celebrating 8 Minutes 45 Seconds: The Bailey Bullock Story, after I had JUST explained why preparedness matters, we suddenly found ourselves in a situation where we had to be prepared.
The AED was there.�We knew where it was.�People moved.�We were ready.
That is the message.
You don’t wait until an emergency happens to get prepared.
Learn CPR.�Know where the AED is.�Don’t assume it can’t happen in your presence.
Because sudden cardiac arrest does not discriminate—and when seconds matter, hesitation leads to delay, and delay can cost a life.
Friday night reminded me once again why I will NEVER stop talking about this.
