On Saturday, December 13 the Paramus Rotary Club participated in Wreaths Across America at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa. Pictured are club past presidents Ed Lang and Nick Laganella ll.

The day is dedicated to remember and honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our countries fallen heroes, and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran out loud.

One of the wreaths was placed by Nick Laganella ll on his father’s grave he having participated in the D day invasion of Europe.

We are proud to honor our American veterans, and look forward to additional opportunities to say thank you for your service. 🇺🇸

Special meeting today at the Rotary Club of Paramus - Distribution of member’s Perfect Attendance Pins.

Rotary emphasises attendance to foster fellowship, strengthen the club, and ensure member engagement in its projects and ideals. Regular attendance is seen as a direct measure of a member’s interest and involvement.

[In addition to regular meeting attendance, a missed meeting can be made up with participation in club sponsored events, board meetings, working on service projects, etc.]

Today Paramus Rotary Club 2024-25 President Sherin Elashry distributed Perfect Attendance Pins to include those members from her term in office who have at least one year of perfect attendance.

Pictured are members who received their pins. Many in this group have accumulated 5+ and 10+ years of perfect attendance, several have 20+ and 30+ years of perfect attendance. One very special member received his 46 year of perfect attendance - WOW TO ALL OF THEM!!

Paramus HS RYLA Award recipients addressed the Paramus Rotary Club.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a unique, multi-dimensional leadership development experience for high school juniors. This program highlights Rotary values and concepts.

RYLA was designed to prepare students to be engaged citizens who are able to lead with strong essential leadership skills such as communication, innovation, collaboration, and more.

Last May the members of the Paramus Rotary Club’s RYLA Committee interviewed many PHS students leading to the selection of four finalists. In the last week of June these finalists attended RYLA Camp held at Caldwell College where they interacted with other RYLA students from across Nothern/Central NJ.

Today these four students did a remarkable job introducing themselves, providing information about their HS activities, and most importantly, providing amazing feedback and how they benefited from their RYLA experiences. Attending along with them today was PHS Principal Dominick Miller, and school Counselor Daura Schucker.

Pictured are (L-R) PHS Principal Miller, students Chris Kim - Mina Kavrakis - Muaz Hassan - Vincent Cordero, PHS Counselor Schucker, Rotary Club VP Elizabeth Spaeth, Rotary Club RYLA Committee Chair Fred Rohdieck.
