Today, Sunday, Dec 1, 2024, is the day for the TEO/TBA Annual Tree Lighting. Join us for this free, fun event.
There will be caroling on the Common, the Tree Lighting, and a Visit by Santa, followed by soups/stews, and tasty baked treats at the Congregational Church.
Join us as we gather at the Common at 4:30 pm. See old friends and meet new ones as we kick off the holiday season.

It is almost time for the Annual TBA and TEO Tree Lighting on the Common!
December 1, 2024. Caroling at 4:30 pm followed by the tree lighting, and then food and fellowship at the Congregational Church.

Open Invitation to Businesses, Non-Profits, and Community Leaders in the 1st Middlesex District
A group of businesses, non-profits, community leaders, and elected officials have been meeting for several months to create a network and plan to help bolster the region.
State Representative Margaret Scarsdale has arranged for the State Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Businesses Listening Tour to be in the 1st Middlesex District (Ashby, Lunenburg, Townsend, Pepperell, Dunstable and Groton). The Listening Tour will take place at the Groton Hill Music Center, June 24, from 2pm – 4 pm. This is a unique opportunity for the district to be heard and inform the state delegation about the needs of the region.
There will be a Business Panel consisting of the following:
• Manufacturer John Quinn, Echo Fiber, Lunenburg
• Developer John Amaral, Omni Properties, LLC. Groton
• Retail Matt Evans, Evans on the Commons, Townsend
• Farming Brittany Overshiner, Up Swing Farm, Pepperell

Following the panel, a Question and Answer between attendees and the Legislators will occur.

The meeting will end with a tour of the Groton Hill Music Center.

TEO is an all volunteer organization that provides support to members of our community.
Programs include food shopping, supplies for back to school, holiday and birthday giving, assistance with daily living expenses, and the Clothes Closet.

The Townsend Business Association is holding a candidate’s night for those running for State Representative in the 1st Middlesex District.
If you would like to suggest a question for the debate on September 29, please submit your question to TBAMA01474 (at) gmail.com.
Please note, questions may or may not be used depending on time available or other questions being asked.
Doors open at 7:00PM and the event will begin 7:15PM.
Be sure to come to the VFW to meet the candidates and learn their views on topics of importance to our region.
After the debate TCAM will also post a recording of the event.
