Did it rain Saturday evening or were we just dreaming? Either way, it wasn't enough for our trees! While we're still hoping that we get dumped on with snow, our deciduous trees are starting their slow climb out of dormancy.
Tips:
🍃IF your tree is presenting leaves, you can switch over to growing season watering frequency, filling your water bags twice weekly.
🚧USE CAUTION! Before watering, check the nightly temperatures! IF they are to stay over 40 degrees, you're good. If not, I would push your watering back to another day. 🥶
IF your tree still only has buds and they have not popped, continue the dormant season watering frequency. You can bump up to once every other week if you think that would be best. It is critical we don't push our trees out of dormancy too early! There is a big difference between your Maple and your neighbors Crabapple - we promise, it will be okay your tree will catch up!
