The Connecticut Yankee Chorale is a community choir located in Torrington CT. We have members from all over Western Connecticut. The Chorale puts on two concerts a year, in December and May. If you like to sing and have fun, we hope you will join us! William H. Atwood- Conductor
William H. Atwood, D.M.A. is the Director of Music and Coordinator of Liturgical Ministries at Saint Catherine of Siena
Church in Trumbull, Connecticut. Previously, Dr. Atwood was Director of Music and Coordinator of Liturgical Ministries at All Saints Church in Manassas, Virginia, in addition to serving as an assisting organist for daily and weekend liturgies at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. A native of Connecticut, Dr. Atwood received the Bachelor of Music Degree magna cm laude from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, a Master of Music Degree in Sacred Music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Sacred Music from The Catholic University of American in Washington, D.C. At Catholic University, Dr. Atwood studied organ with Edward Alan Moore and Ronald Stolk, and choral conducting/sacred music with Leo Nestor. Dr. Atwood was the recipient of the 2001 Elaine Rendler Scholarship, the 2007 Koinonia Scholarship, the 2008 Cardinal DiNardo Scholarship, the 2009 Steven C. Warner Scholarship, the 2010 NPM Members Scholarship and the 2012 Perrot Scholarship through the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. He was also the 2001 recipient of the Charlotte Hoyt Bagnall Scholarship for the study of church music and was a Magi Scholar at The Catholic University of America. Recent organ recital engagements have included performances at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, and the 2008 Eastern Regional Convention of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. Laurie is the organist for the Barkhamsted First Congregational Church in Barkhamsted since 2018, and the former organist of the First Congregational Church of Litchfield where she began her career in 1983 as organist,. Later in her career, she was the organist and Music Director from 2008-2018. She also directed the senior choir and bell choir. Laurie was a member of the alto section of the Chorale with her two daughters, but is now the full time accompanist. Board of Directors

Member Dues
The Chorale is a non-profit arts organization. Patronage support, in addition to member dues, fundraising drives and ticket sales is critical for covering out operating and performance expenses. Member dues are mandatory for all members. Dues are $80 for regular members and $40 for students. For new members, we allow a 2 week trial period before dues are paid. We also can make arrangements for 1/2 year dues as necessary.
