Burial Site of King Hiram of Tyre

Known also as "Huram" and "Horam," Hiram was the King of Tyre in the time of King David and King Solomon.
While he was politically allied with David, Hiram's workmen helped David's people to build David's palace in Jerusalem, and then after Solomon succeeded his father David as King of Israel, Hiram's workers also participated in the building of the first Temple.
Much of the fine cedar for both the palace and Temple came from Tyre.

"DON'T BURY ME WITH OUT MY APRON"

" It is an ancient custom
When a Brother Mason passes way,

That he no longer wears his Apron
And his tools they quietly lay.

But I beg of you my Brothers
Closest family and Loved ones to,

That I must wear my Apron
For I have yet so much to do.

Though I may not have it on
The day I meet my fate,

I'll be pennyless and destitute
As I pass that pearly gate.

For the Grand Master has sent me a summons
On that very day,

And as in my obligations
You know I must obey.

That Grand Lodge will be called and opened
For my final Degree,

So I must be properly clothed
For the Grand Tyler to admit me.

Don't bury me without my Apron
My tools must not lay rest,

For it's in that Grand Lodge above
Where I must work my best.

Amen!! S M I B!! "

At Seneca Masonic Lodge 55, Torrington, CT., three Brothers were passed to the Fellowcraft Degree on Tuesday November 19, 2019. They were Brothers David Franceschetti, Scott Kevorkian and Robert Newsome. The degree was presided over by SW Dan Reeve who did an exceptional presentation. I would like to thank all of the Brothers that participated in this degree. Well Done.
