Last Saturday's community bell-ringing (06/01/24) was dedicated to all veterans of the Korean War, all veterans of the Vietnam War, and everyday heros including all first responders, healthcare workers, and teachers. We specifically remembered and honored the following individuals:

Commander David Lopez, US Army, Korean War Veteran and Educator

Mr. Lincoln Marx, Educator and Philanthropist.

Once again I would like to thank Kelly Che from the Korean Cultural Center as well as the Korean Consulate for the invite to attend the Harmony for the Future Concert marking the 70th Anniversary between the ROK-US Alliance. I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to represent my father and for continuing to honor the Korean War Veterans. It was so nice to see Benjamin Espinosa and Manuel Adame along with their son and daughter there to represent KWVA Chapter 56. Dad would be so proud. We will never not remember our Korean War Vets. ❤️🇺🇸🇰🇷

Just wanted to express how sad we are to hear about the passing of one of our Life Members Marvin Neal Reed. Not only was he a Life Member of the Chapter for so many years he was also a very dear friend and fellow classmate of Dads. I am so grateful that they were able to see each other at there 70th High School Reunion one last time. I know Dad was there to greet you and it gives me comfort that you two are together again. You will be truly missed Marvin. ❤️❤️

Veterans or Family members I have a dear friend whose Mother in Law just passed and has the following health care equipment that she would like to donate to a Veteran or Veterans that may need them. All this0 equipment she personally bought herself and are located in the city of Gardena, CA. Her last wish was to make sure it was donated to a Veteran. Unfortunately the Vet Centers are not taking equipment due to Covid at this time and0 her family just wants to make sure that it goes to a Veteran that really needs it.

An actual Hospital Bed
Wheelchair
Walker
Shower Stool
Commode

If you may know someone that could use this equipment please give me a call or send me a message at (714) 381-6414 and ask
for Sally, once again all the equipment is located here in Gardena, CA.

It is with a heavy heart that I need to announce the passing of our Commander David Lopez who passed away on May 14, 2020. He started the Chapter back in 1997 and dedicated the rest of his life making sure that his fellow Veterans would never be forgotten. His only wish is that the Chapter continues, and with the help of the KWVA supporting us and our members the Chapter still remains and is still considered active and is in good standing as of today. We wanted to know exactly what needed to be done in order to move forward with the passing of our Commander and the future of the Chapter and our members, with that said a meeting will be held in the near future to follow the bylaws and a vote will take place by the membership only to address all of the issues. Per the Bylaws only the membership by vote can determine whether or not a Chapter continues or is dissolved.

Thank you Dad for your service. You are truly missed.❤🇺🇸
