HORSEGIRLS is an authentically-cast film about Margarita, a young woman with autism who discovers the world of hobbyhorsing and sets out to prove her independence to her mother—stick horse and all.

The film will be available to buy and rent beginning 8/19, and we would love if you could help us spread the word. In this toolkit, you will find graphics/photos and an interview with the lead actress, Lillian, and the inspiration behind here character, Marguerite.

Starting Monday, August 17, 2026, at 8:00 AM, the LA County Development Authority’s Public
Housing Program will begin accepting registrations for 16 Site-Based Waiting Lists, including 10 elderly-designated properties.
Deadline to apply is September 16, 2026 (5:00 PM) and small site lists may close earlier once 1,000 applications are received. Interested individuals may register to one or more lists during this time.
Apply at harp.lacda.org/ex/NewApp.aspx or by calling (626) 5861522. More
information including property addresses, bedroom sizes, and more can be found at
www.lacda.org. Please note, the County’s Section 8 Waiting List remains closed.
