Sandpipers

Give the gift of a new pair of shoes this holiday season.

Sandpipers’ Associate Shoe Drive supports our Holiday Baskets Program, our founding program since 1931. Each December, we deliver toys, clothing, and household necessities to 100 local families in the South Bay.

A $50 donation helps provide a new pair of shoes for every child in the program. All money raised beyond the amount needed for shoes will go toward other holiday goods for our families.

As a 100% volunteer organization, Sandpipers is proud to connect member commitment and donor generosity to strengthen our community.

Our hearts are so full 💛

Last night, our co-president Gigi, joined by Dana and HoMin, our president-elects for the 2027-2028 term, attended the Torrance-South Bay YMCA’s 79th Annual Volunteer and Awards Celebration Dinner, a beautiful evening of Harmony and Community.

We are so honored to share that Sandpipers received the Community Partner Award for our philanthropic programs.

In addition to the Y’s award, we were presented with a certificate from the County of Los Angeles, a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Assembly, and a Certificate of Congressional Recognition from the U.S. House of Representatives.

Such a meaningful acknowledgment of the care our members put into serving the South Bay.

Every basket packed, every scholarship given, every hour volunteered... this recognition belongs to each and every Sandpiper whose kindness and friendship fuel our impact, yesterday, today, and always.

Our mission: Sandpipers is a 100% volunteer organization, dedicated to strengthening the South Bay community since 1931, connecting the commitment of our members and the generosity of our donors to advance the education, well-being, and financial stability of our neighbors in need 💛

💗 A little extra love for mom goes a long way. 💗

While we are collecting baby essentials for our Community Baby Shower in Wilmington, we also hope to include thoughtful gifts that help each of the 25 expectant mothers feel seen, supported, and cared for.

Postpartum care items, self-care products, cozy comforts, and small treats are all wonderful ways to support a mom as she prepares for her new arrival. Baby essentials—including clothing, swaddles, towels, hygiene items, car seats, strollers, and pajamas—are also greatly appreciated.
