Our rescue was born out of a need to be an advocate for dogs who can't speak for themselves. Rescuing dogs from shelters in SoCal, the streets and kill shelters in Turkey and provide a safe haven until they find their "furever" family! Join us on Saturday, June 13th at Pet Power Studio in Encinitas for a groovy morning of yoga, community and giving back all in support of Rovers Retreat and the rescue dogs who need us most 🐾💛

ADOPT JAZZY 🤍

Jazzy is a sweet girl ready to find her forever family!

Jazzy is a 1 year old terrier mix girl who’s fluffy, friendly and ready to be loved. She was rescued from the Carson Animal Care Center after struggling with the noise and stress of shelter life, Jazzy finally got the chance she deserved and she has been thriving ever since.

Her foster mom describes her as “perfect” and we couldn’t agree more 🥰

Jazzy is calm, gentle and an easy going girl. She loves long walks, belly rubs and spending time with her people.

At 47 pounds, Jazzy is the perfect medium size pup! She is big enough for adventures, but easy to bring along wherever life takes you 🐾

Jazzy has proven to be a 10/10 good girl and she simply wants a family who will make her feel safe, loved and included. In return, she’ll give loving loyalty, gentle companionship and a best friend for life.

📍Jazzy is currently fostered in West Hollywood, CA but can be adopted anywhere in the USA so long as her adopters travel to SoCal and drive home 🏡

ADOPT BRUNO 🐾

Bruno is a 2 year old handsome golden retriever boy who’s ready to be your best friend forever!

Bruno came into rescue after his previous family felt they could no longer keep him safe from a male dog in the home who was bullying him. Since then, he has blossomed in his foster home and is proving to be the best boy.

He loves walks, fetch, toys, cuddles and being wherever his people are. He’s the kind of dog who will happily join you on an outdoor adventure and then curl up next to you on the couch afterward 🥰

Bruno currently lives with two female dogs and loves playing his foster sisters. With his past experience, we will only consider a home with another playful female dog.

The only thing Bruno needs is a forever family to call his own. ❤️

Bruno is scheduled to be neutered on June 5 and will be available for adoption once he has recovered from surgery.

📍Bruno is currently fostered in Poway, CA but can be adopted anywhere in the USA so long as her adopters travel to SoCal and drive home 🏡

Magnolia is in need of a foster, foster to adopt, or better yet an adopter!!

We have had mama Magnolia in rescue for more than a year now, and we remain SHOCKED she has had no interested. Maggie came to us pregnant, and she gave birth to and raised 3 incredible babies who were all quickly adopted…. But once again, she was left behind

Maggie is around 4 years old and is 20 or so pounds. She loves other dogs, has been around kids and cats, and really just needs a little time to warm up and then will be your very best friend. She loves to cuddle, run around and be a part of all the action.

Now Maggie is in desperate need of a foster home, too. She will thrive in a patient home willing to finally give her the love and commitment she’s deserved for so long.

Our adorable new arrival, Ohtani, got a makeover today thanks to our friends at !

This little fella came into rescue over the weekend and is settling in well. We will share more updates on him as we get to know him better. In the meantime, he greatly enjoyed his spa day and has been such a little love.

❤️✨ A very special Happy Tails announcement! ❤️✨

Our sweet girl Mable has officially found her forever home! 🥹

Her story is another reminder that giving these dogs a second chance… changes their lives forever ❤️‍🩹

After being hit by a car, abandoned and left in the shelter to suffer, she found herself searching for a family that will help her heal, physically and emotionally.

Today, she is exactly where she belongs ❤️

We couldn’t be happier for Mable and her AMAZING adopters. It takes a truly special soul to open their heart to a rescue dog and Mable is one lucky girl 🥰

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who donated to help cover Mable’s medical bills. We are so grateful to each of you that continues to support Rovers Retreat, your support helps us save more dogs just like Mable 🐾

Jazzy is ready for her furever home!

We recently rescued this sweet little girl from Carson shelter. She has been settling in so well and is ready to start the search for her furever family.

Jazzy is around 1 years old and 48 pounds. She is some kind of terrier mix mutt. Whatever her mix is, she is truly adorable and the sweetest little girl.

Jazzy is an incredible pup who has settled in remarkably well despite enduring the chaos of the shelter. She loves long walks, cuddles and toys. She has done very well in her foster home and has been a wonderful houseguest.

She will thrive in a loving home committed to giving her the activity, attention and adventure she so deserves.
