🎣💙 Another wonderful morning of Coping, Cocoa & Canvas at Hawthorne High School!

Today, we painted a "Hooked on Dad" painting featuring fish on hooks and a peaceful ocean scene. We enjoyed a chance to recharge and spend quality time together.

These mornings are always a great reminder of the importance of self-care, community, and making space for joy amidst the busyness of life. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

What a wonderful morning at R.K. Lloyde Continuation High School for Coping, Cocoa & Canvas! 🌷🎨

Parents took time to slow down, practice deep breathing, connect with one another, and tap into their creativity as they painted beautiful watering cans overflowing with flowers.

It was a refreshing reminder that growth happens when we make space to pause, reflect, and care for ourselves. ✨️

We are all smiles because of our leaders at Markham Middle School. 😊 They have worked diligently to create art pieces that explore and educate their peers and community on substance use disorders and mental health. The growth we have seen since the start of the program brings us great joy. 🥰 Next week, we’ll be wrapping up the program and it’s making us a little teary-eyed because they will be missed. ♥️

There is something truly special about our partnership with Audubon Middle School’s BSAP. We believe it may be because it’s rooted in care and when partnering together with get to show the AMS Eagles how to lead with love. Today, we had the honor of participating in the 3rd Annual Mental Health Matters Fair hosted by My Crew, an amazing youth group on campus that among many things encourages the students on campus to care for their mental health. We led watercoloring and passed out fruit snacks. We caught up with students from last year’s programs and had plenty of laughs. Today was a good day. 😊

Yesterday, we had a time at the SPA 8 Health Neighborhoods Community Resource Fair. The event included 34 providers, workshops focused on building your confidence and defining your story, mental health resources and linkages to services, giveaways, and food. The weather was nice and we were able to do what we love most - make an impact. 🥰

Special thanks to our team for holding it down… Deana, Yashimah, Charity, Valerie, Hailey, Leah, and Jenifer. A huge shout out Hailey and Leah for your leadership and helping the event run smoothly. To be 12 years old and rocking it the way you did - thank you, thank you, thank you! ♥️

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the City of Carson will be hosting its annual FREE Mental Health Forum & Resource Fair on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 9am-1pm. Our Founder, Jenifer Harris, will present on Caregiver Burnout and our team will have a table sharing mental health resources.

The community is invited to come together to learn, to share, and to help break the stigma surrounding Mental Health. This event includes a free refreshments, networking opportunities, and a vendor village full of educational and community resources. This year’s focus will be on Compassion Fatigue & Caregiver Burnout. Subject matter experts will discuss topics such as current research, preventative care, holistic approaches, and trending topics. Activities include laughter yoga, breathing exercises, meditation, and stretching techniques.
