Another powerful Memorial Day ceremony at the Los Angeles National Cemetery with the Scouts of Troop 218 Torrance. Lots of changes have happened in the troop this past scouting year, but what hasn’t changed is our deep reverence for this special annual event.
For the first time, Troop 218 was trusted with the responsibility of placing a flag at the headstone of a Medal of Honor recipient. It was really cool learning the incredible story of the service member buried there — complete with the special plaque, blue flag, and an Order of the Arrow Scout standing at attention until the flag was placed. Super meaningful!
Take a moment this Memorial Day to remember the brave service men and women who made our freedoms possible. A Scout is Reverent, and days like this bring that to life.

⚡️ FULL SEND at Garage 77 ⚡️

Troop 218 rolled in and turned the place into an all-out arcade showdown—pinball machines popping off, shuffleboard getting HEATED, air hockey rematches flying, and zero chill from start to finish.

This wasn’t just hanging out… this was full throttle fun. Boys being boys, laughing loud, competing hard, and stacking up memories like high scores.

Parents were in the mix too—kicking back, swapping stories, and soaking in the chaos (the good kind). One of those nights you wish you could hit “replay” on.

Massive thanks for the space and the vibes—Garage 77 delivered BIG. Let’s gooooo 🤘🔥

A huge thank you to our amazing charter organization for hosting us at another fantastic Scout Sunday! 🙌

We are truly blessed to have such a supportive partner that lifts our scouts up mentally, materially, and spiritually. Watching everyone live out “A Scout is Reverent” this past Sunday was heartwarming and inspiring — the kind of moment that reminds us why we do what we do. ❤️

Troop 218 Torrance just wrapped up an epic weekend at Red Rock Canyon State Park campground—desert vibes on full blast! We leveled up with some thrilling off-roading in side-by-side vehicles (a total first for many of us—bumpy, dusty, and ridiculously fun!). Then we dove into history: exploring the eerie Old Dutch Cleanser Mine (where they once dug pumice for that classic cleaner), walking through the legendary B***o Schmidt Tunnel (hand-dug over decades—mind-blowing dedication!), and checking out the remnants of the old Bonanza Gulch Post Office.

From jaw-dropping red rock formations to hidden mining gems, this trip was packed with adventure, laughs, and stories we’ll be telling for years. One for the books!

Troop 218 Torrance is stoked to celebrate our newest Eagle Scout, Seth Rowell! 🦅

Seth is the real deal—a true scout through and through, with that classic scout spirit shining in every campout, hike, service project, and adventure. He pushed himself physically and mentally on his scouting journey, proving what dedication and heart look like in action. His Eagle Project was a game-changer: building an outdoor classroom for the incredible kids at , a nonprofit that gives special needs and disabled children the joy of learning to ride and care for horses through therapeutic riding. What an amazing way to give back and make a lasting impact!

We’ve loved every step of being part of Seth’s journey, and we can’t wait to see all the great things this exceptional young man does next. Congratulations, Seth—you’ve earned those wings!

“Pacifica District is sad to announce on less Life Scout...” Yes you heard that right, we were proud to be part of another Eagle Scout journey. This scout has shown incredible leadership throughout his scouting journey and his Eagle project at the field was nothing short of exceptional. A huge thank you to his parents for trusting us with his scouting journey. We all are looking forward to this future leader making his mark on this world.

If you can believe it, this was one of two Eagle BoRs for Troop 218 scouts!

While the rest of the country was dodging ice storms and shoveling snow, Troop 218 Torrance was living our best SoCal life—hiking hard, splashing through streams, and turning Trail Canyon Falls into our personal playground! 🌞 We powered through 80-degree sunshine, chilly river crossings, and a packed trail, but the real highlights? Hands-on water filtration practice (because clean water = happy scouts) and sharpening those orienteering skills with map and compass. Nothing beats watching the crew figure out bearings and then crush the route like pros.
A full day of adventure, learning, laughs, and epic views—proud doesn’t even cover it. These scouts are unstoppable!

Troop 218 Torrance had the incredible honor of teaming up with Wreaths Across America to place 5,000 wreaths at the Los Angeles National Cemetery. This year was the biggest yet for the organization, and our Scouts were absolutely thrilled to be part of such a meaningful tradition—honoring our veterans with every wreath laid.

Looking ahead, Wreaths Across America is aiming to double that number next year, and Troop 218 is all in to help make it happen. There’s something truly special about coming together for this cause!

Nothing beats burning off that turkey coma like a SoCal adventure! For the Troop 218 scouts who stayed local, we crushed the Switzer Falls Trail: crystal-clear streams, surprise river crossings, and some of the best fall colors we’ve seen in years.
And because Scouts leave it better than we found it → these legends packed out a full bag of trail trash on the way down. Proud of this crew! 🙌🔥
