Biasi-Shuma Memorial 5k Run Walk

This week, we proudly presented $12,000 to the United Way of Jefferson County Ohio, $12,000 to the Ohio Valley American Heart Association and funding for two $1,000 Shuma Scholarships for Toronto High School seniors—all made possible through the 2026 Biasi-Shuma Memorial 5K Run/Walk.

We are incredibly grateful to every sponsor, participant, volunteer and community member who helped make this possible. Your continued support allows us to honor the lives and legacies of Gino Biasi and Mike Shuma by giving back to the Ohio Valley they called home.

Thank you to the Herald-Star, Steubenville, Ohio for highlighting this year’s impact! ❤️

TORONTO — Several area organizations received checks totaling $38,000 during Wednesday’s meeting of the Toronto Kiwanis Club. The money represented proceeds from the annual Biasi-Shuma Memorial 5K Walk-Run and a distribution from the Toronto Services Committee. “This was our best year, once ag...

🎉 That’s a wrap!

What a morning! We broke two records today…

☀️ The hottest race in event history
🏃 And our largest turnout ever

We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of you. Thank you for showing up to support our community, get active, and celebrate Independence Day with us. There couldn’t have been a better way to spend the morning! 🇺🇸

Because of your generosity, more than 300 participants came together to help raise over $25,000 for our community. That impact is something we’re truly proud of.

To our runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors, first responders, and everyone who helped make today possible—thank you. This event simply wouldn’t happen without you.

Enjoy the rest of your Fourth of July, stay safe, stay cool, and we’ll see you at the starting line again next year! ❤️💙

• We encourage everyone to arrive no later than 8:00 a.m. to allow plenty of time for check-in.
• Parking is available in the stadium parking lot only. Please do not park on surrounding streets.

This year’s event will feel a little different as we remember our beloved mascot, Buckeye Brutus Biasi, who crossed the rainbow bridge earlier this week. We wanted to share one of our favorite photos of him proudly wearing his race medal—a reminder that he’ll always be part of this event.

After you cross the finish line, please stick around for our closing remarks, winner announcements, and prize drawings. You won’t want to miss it!

Have a question before race day? Drop it in the comments—we’re happy to help.

See you at the starting line! 🎉
