❤️ Memorial Day is an important day to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving in the military to protect our country and our freedoms. It is a time for families, friends, and communities to come together with gratitude, respect, and patriotism. Memorial Day reminds us to appreciate the sacrifices made by heroes who fought for peace and safety for future generations. As we celebrate with loved ones, we also take a moment to reflect, remember, and say thank you to those who will never be forgotten. 🌟🕊️🇺🇸

Mental Health Awareness Week at Lava Heights Academy is a meaningful time to focus on emotional wellness, self-care, and the importance of supporting one another. Throughout the week, students and staff come together through activities, discussions, and creative expression to promote healing, resilience, and positivity. It is a reminder that every feeling matters and that asking for help is a sign of strength. By encouraging kindness, connection, and open conversations about mental health, the academy helps create a safe and supportive environment where every girl can continue growing, learning, and believing in herself. 💙🌱

We recently had the opportunity for Paul Mitchell the School come out and talk with the girls about cosmetology and what is required to become a cosmetologist.
We also had some of the students curl some hair do some braids and spend some time with them answering questions they had.
It was a fun day and the girls enjoyed their time on campus.

Preparing for a family weekend at a residential center can bring a mix of excitement and nerves, especially for girls who have been working hard on their personal growth.

In the days leading up to the visit, it’s helpful to take time to reflect, set intentions, and think about what you want to share with your family—whether it’s progress you’ve made, feelings you’ve been sorting through, or simply moments you’re proud of. Packing a few favorite items, writing down thoughts in a journal, or even creating a small welcome note can make the weekend feel more personal and meaningful. It’s also okay to feel unsure or emotional; those feelings are part of reconnecting and growing. With a little preparation and an open heart, family weekend can become a powerful opportunity to rebuild trust, strengthen bonds, and create new memories together. 💛

Spring feels like the world is taking a deep, fresh breath 🌷✨ After the quiet of winter, everything begins again—flowers bloom in soft colors, trees stretch out with new green leaves, and the air feels lighter and full of possibility 🌿🌸 It’s a season that reminds us we can start over too, no matter what came before 💛 Just like the earth, we can grow, heal, and become something new 🌼🌈

✨ Quote:
"You may feel like you're walking through the hardest chapter of your story right now, but even the strongest flowers grow through dirt. Your feelings are real, your strength is real, and your future is brighter than you can see today. Keep going — the world needs the light that only you can bring." 💛🌼

Remember:

Your voice matters 🎨

Your feelings are valid 💬

Your story isn’t over yet 🌅

Even on tough days, every small step forward counts. You are stronger than you think. 💪✨

A positive mindset is like turning on a light inside your mind. 💡 When you focus on hope, growth, and the good things around you, even small moments can feel powerful. Every challenge is a chance to learn, every mistake is a step toward getting stronger, and every new day is a fresh start. 🌅 Believe in your ability to grow, keep moving forward even when things feel tough, and remind yourself that your thoughts can shape the way you see the world. With encouragement, patience, and self-kindness, you can build a mindset that helps you stay hopeful, confident, and ready for whatever comes next. 🌱✨

Teen girls often find powerful ways to express their emotions through art 🎨✨ Whether it’s painting bold colors on a canvas, filling sketchbooks with meaningful drawings, writing heartfelt poetry, or strumming melodies on a guitar 🎸, art becomes a safe space where feelings can flow freely. When words feel too hard to say out loud, creativity speaks for them 💭💖 Through every brushstroke, lyric, or journal entry, they turn confusion into clarity and pain into beauty 🌈🖌️ Art reminds them that their emotions matter, their voices are important, and their stories deserve to be seen and heard 💕🌟

You are stronger than this moment. Even on the days when everything feels heavy, when progress seems slow, and when you miss the life you’re working toward, remember that choosing to heal is one of the bravest things a girl can do. Being in residential treatment does not define you — it proves you are fighting for yourself. Every hard conversation, every tear, every small step forward is building a future version of you who is wiser, steadier, and proud she didn’t give up. You are not broken. You are becoming. And there is a powerful, unstoppable light inside you that no circumstance can take away. Keep going — your story is still unfolding, and it’s going to be stronger and more beautiful than you can imagine. 💛
