On today's WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz, Sarah Brayman and Steve Weems of Brunswick Public Art (BPA) making assurances that there will be opportunities for more public input on a proposed public art project at the Frank J. Wood Bridge site between Brunswick and Topsham.
Weems, the BPA treasurer, made a point of saying that no contracts have been signed and no final decisions have been made.
However, Sarah Brayman also noted that public art is often controversial and that sometimes art that meets initially with negative responses, comes to be loved and cherished over time.
The proposed sculpture (pictured here) is made from fragments of the old bridge and is meant to foster memories of that bridge.
