Midcoast Youth Hockey - Jr. Polar Bears has become the standard for program growth, stewardship and community engagement!
Congratulations Peter Francine -- SRYS Board President Bill Patterson was thrilled to help celebrate the past, president and very bright future of hockey in Maine's mid-coast at this mornings LTPH session.

Today we recognized Coach Pete with the inaugural Francine Legacy Award!!!

The impact Coach Pete has had on the youth of our area cannot be calculated. Supporting 300 total signups this season for our Learn to Play Hockey program (up from 60 theee years ago) takes an unmatched level of commitment, patience, and care.

The Francine Award will be awarded annually to individual who exemplifies the spirit of the Junior Polar Bears and who make a lasting impact through their contributions. A portion of fundraising each year will be dedicated contributing to the newly established MCYH Legacy Fund in that recipients name.

This year the MCYH board is honored to make a leadership gift of $20,000 in Pete’s name to kick start this growth of the fund. Be a part of recognizing Coach Pete by making your own one time, monthly, or annual gift to the fund at www.MidcoastHockey.org/LegacyFund

According to statistics from Feeding America 1 in 5 Maine children face food insecurity with evidence to show that number is rising. Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program has been working to feed Mainers since 1983.

The Brunswick Dragons Soccer Team is asking for our help-- Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 28th before the highly anticipated Battle of the Bridge Playoff Addition game vs Mt. Ararat Eagles. They are collecting food, specifically a PB&J and pasta drive with the goal of collecting 900 lbs of food to deliver to Mid Coast Hunger Prevention.

Your Junior Polar Bears are heading into Watson Arena as guests of Unified Special Hockey of Maine for the Witches Brew Adaptive Skating Awareness Weekend!

🕘 Saturday at 9:20 AM
Our younger players will get a chance to experience the thrill of Sled Hockey. Grab a coffee or cocoa at the concessions stand and cheer on these inspiring athletes as our kids see firsthand the determination and heart of the adaptive hockey community.

🏒 Saturday at 4:15 PM
The 14U Tier 4 team will take the ice in a Unified Rules matchup with Blizzard C. What’s Unified Rules? Rosters are blended to feature Junior Polar Bears skating alongside Special Olympics athletes—highlighting sportsmanship, teamwork, and community at its best.

🕑 Sunday at 2:45 PM
The 12U Tier 4 team gets their Unified Rules opportunity against the host Highlanders C., followed by an all-player adaptive skating session—a chance for every skater to try it themselves!

🙌 Volunteers Needed!
To make this weekend unforgettable, we need extra hands on and off the ice. Unified players often need a little more support—and this is our chance to give their families the gift of sitting back, cheering, and celebrating. Find your way to help through the Signup Genius link in the comments.

In this carefully crafted 3-class session, work with certified physical therapists on mobility, fall prevention, and fall safety. Classes will take place at 20 Atwood Rd, utilizing both the Six Rivers Youth Sports Field House and the Dynamic Physical Therapy and Sports Conditioning facilities. This class offers the chance to work closely with professionals who will tailor the class experience to meet your needs. Join us! Registration link in bio.

Week 3: How to Safely Fall, Getting Up from a Fall
DATES: Wednesday June 11, 18 & 25 from 10-11AM

You’re reading that right. The Midcoast 3v3 tournament is BACK and better than ever.

Our 6U-14U players will participate in a showcase of their love of the game; competing in a 3v3 tournament and then taking over the game for our end of season celebration!

Full schedule and roster details will be coming soon. In the meantime, get ready for the greatest show on ice!

Toddler drop-in hours are from 9AM-Noon at the turf TOMORROW (Weds Feb 19). Come help your little one (~ages 2-5) burn some energy. No facilitation - stations will be set up on the turf. Parent must accompany child on the turf.
