ASA 2026 Plenary Speaker IV Highlight

We’re pleased to welcome Romanita Hairston as a plenary speaker at ASA 2026, presenting on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM EST, at Gordon College.

Romanita Hairston is the Chief Executive Officer of the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, where she oversees the foundation’s mission and grantmaking across the nonprofit, education, technology, and philanthropic sectors. Her leadership draws on more than two decades of experience spanning organizations such as World Vision, Microsoft, and the Murdock Trust.

“The Epistemology of Attention: Why Theologians and Scientists May Have Never Had More in Common”

In this talk, Romanita explores how theologians and scientists share a foundational posture of disciplined attention to realities greater than themselves. She argues that how we attend—to truth, to one another, and to the world—shapes what we come to know, and invites the ASA community to consider how faith and science together can foster wisdom, ethical clarity, and faithful leadership in a polarized age.
