Island Independence 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk

Island Independence 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk Date: Saturday, July 4th at 7:30am. Location: 1040 S. Anderson Blvd. Topsail Beach, NC 28445 T-shirts are guaranteed to participants who register prior to June 22.

Packet pick-up will be held from 4-7pm on Friday, July 3 at Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel, as well as on race morning from 6-7am.

Hello everyone! There seems to be some confusion regarding the Island Independence 5K. The race is unfortunately not being held this year due to scheduling and other conflicts. That is why there has been no publicity and why there is not a website set up for registration. We apologize for any confusion and wish you all a safe and happy 4th of July!

We will have a bake sale, shaver stand, and more the morning of the 4th. Even if you aren't walking or running, you can come cheer on the runners and walkers and grab goodies!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! We are thrilled to announce that Hurricane Arthur created only minimal damage to Topsail and surrounding areas, and we are now looking forward to seeing everyone this afternoon from 4-7:00pm for the first session of packet pickup/registration. Come see us at the church (1040 S. Anderson Blvd.) to grab your gear and have any last minute race day questions answered. Stay safe out there today, rest up, & remember the origin of our freedom 238 years ago today when the Declaration of our Independence was signed. Race on America!

Did you miss the online registration deadline for the Island Independence 5K? No worries, you will have the opportunity to register on-site this Friday from 4-7:00pm and on race day (Saturday) from 6-7:15am! More good news: t-shirts are STILL available on a first come, first-register basis until we run out! We know that many of you are concerned about the weather, but as of the current forecast it is looking calm and clear for Saturday morning, so keep and eye on this page for updates and GET READY TO RUN!
