Our Summer Reading Boost program is designed for children ages 5–7 who need a little extra support, encouragement, or practice becoming successful readers.

We meet:
Thursdays 2:00–4:00 PM AND
Fridays 12:00–2:00 PM

Just $40 per week!

Whether your child is behind, reluctant to read, or simply needs more practice, we'll meet them where they are and help them grow at their own pace in a supportive environment.

Because every child deserves to feel successful when they open a book. 💛

Classes are taught by Mr. J, a former science teacher who helped launch the Discovery Center's science programs. Kids won't just learn about science—they'll DO science!

We've had such a fun start to our summer already! ☀️💛

The kids have been building friendships, exploring new ideas, creating, moving, laughing, and settling into the kind of small-group environment where everyone gets to be seen and supported.

One of my favorite things has been watching kids relax, open up, and gain confidence when they realize they don't have to compete for attention or keep up with a large group.

There is still time to join us for the rest of the summer!

Our morning program is a great fit for kids ages 6–11 who enjoy:
✨ Hands-on activities
✨ Outdoor play and movement
✨ Creative projects
✨ Making friends in a small group
✨ A structured environment where they feel safe and successful

Lunch is provided daily, and families are welcome to work around vacations and summer plans.

If you've been looking for a summer experience that's more personal, more connected, and less overwhelming than a large camp, I'd love to talk with you.

Classes are led by Kami, a certified yoga instructor and social-emotional education professional who deeply understands the unique challenges moms face. Her approach is welcoming, encouraging, and focused on helping you reconnect with your body, reduce stress, and leave feeling refreshed.

Week 1 is in the books! Such a fun week with this group designing everything from our dream clubhouses to carnival rides and bridges! They created creatures with cardboard rolls, magic worlds using a magic marker, and carnival games that actually worked! Everyone was deeply engaged & had a great time!

Here's to next week where we shift our Imaginations to Super Heroes!

Hey friends! 👋
Do you want free lunches for your kids this summer? How about a free lunch for you, too?

I'm looking for volunteers to help me serve lunches Mon- Friday starting June 1st through July 24th. Volunteers can eat for free! (Other adults will not be served per food program rules)

Where: CRC Lundgren, 1020 NE Forest Ave
Times: arrive by 10:30am, leave around 12:30pm
What you'll do: greet food delivery staff, set up food to be served, put food on plates for kids (meals served beginning at 11am & ending at noon), pack up things the way they arrived & return to the food program pick up people. There's a couple forms to fill out & I'll help with those.

Super simple, fun way to serve families this summer & I would deeply appreciate it!! I will be there with 2 different Summer Programs so I'll be busy with kids until 11am when we start serving & starting again at noon when it's time to clean up.

Today, our Summer Program kids read about a magic marker that created whatever the user wanted, then created their own magic story scenes on large cardboard. They also drew their own comic strip stories & shared them with each other. I'm loving how creative & kind these kids are!

SUCH an AMAZING first day of Summer programs!! Kids & I were so busy having fun, I forgot to take many pictures!!

We read about ideas & imagination then built little monsters or animals out of cardboard rolls, then designed our own invention to solve a problem we face!

There still a couple openings if you're interested in getting your 6-11 year old involved! We've got a whole summer to go! 🌞

I can hardly believe it… our summer programs start the day after tomorrow!! ☀️💛

I am SO excited to welcome the very first group of kids and families into what Journey + Arise Microschool are building together, now supported by Gatherpoint Learning.

This summer, we’re offering:

☀️ Summer Morning Program
A small-group space for hands-on learning, movement, creativity, friendship-building, and summer fun

📚 Summer Reading Boost
Supportive, confidence-building help for struggling or reluctant readers

And honestly… this is just the beginning.

It’s wild to think how quickly August will be here, when we officially open our doors for our 4/5-day microschool program for students in grades 3–8.

Small groups. Personalized learning. Real relationships. Kids learning in a way that actually works for them.

So many good things are happening, and we’re just getting started.
