WHAT DOES “HYPER-INDIVIDUALIZED” ACTUALLY MEAN?

It's more than saying, “We personalize learning.”

At Gatherpoint, individualized learninf means:
→ A student working ahead because they're ready.
→ A student slowing down because they need more time.
→ Different students working on different levels.
→ Choosing materials that fit the learner.
→ Movement breaks when a brain needs movement.
→ Quiet space when a student needs less stimulation.
→ Hands-on projects instead of another worksheet.
→ More independence for students who are ready for it.
→ More support for students who need it.
→ Adjusting our approach when something isn't working.

The goal isn't for every child to be doing the same thing at the same time.

The goal is for every child to be learning.

What if school started with the question: “What does THIS child need?”

At Gatherpoint Learning, we’re building a hyper-individualized program where students are not expected to fit into one rigid mold.

Some students need more challenge.

Some need more time.

Some need movement.

Some need quiet.

Some need direct instruction.

Some thrive with independence.

And sometimes a student needs a completely different approach than the kid sitting right beside them.

That’s the point.

We are a small private school with full time & a la carte options, designed to give families more flexibility and students a more personal educational experience.

Two days in, and we're already seeing the beginnings of something really special. ❤️

New friendships are forming. Routines are taking shape. Students are finding their own ways to feel comfortable, safe, and ready to learn.

This is why I believe so strongly in small learning communities. Kids need time to settle in, be known, and discover that they belong.

And while our microschool is getting started, homeschool families can be part of the Gatherpoint community, too! Starting Sept 2nd -

🦎 Wednesdays at 12:30 — Animal Science Lab
Hands-on animal research, experiments, and 3 real dissections!

🇺🇸 Thursdays at 12:30 — Discover America
Explore all 50 states through history, geography, landmarks, state symbols, current events, and a semester-long interactive map project.

Both are open to homeschool students in grades 3–8 for our 12-week fall semester.

Also, starting Sept 4th we're opening our classroom for Homeschool Enrichment classes!!

1 more day until school starts! ❤️

I've spent the last several days planning, prepping, organizing, and talking with families, and I'm feeling VERY excited, a tiny bit nervous, and incredibly hopeful about the year ahead.

We're building something really special at Gatherpoint Learning Microschool.

A place where kids aren't just another name on a roster or a number in a classroom. A place where they're seen, known, supported, and challenged to grow—academically, socially, and in confidence.

Because sometimes the hardest part of public school isn't that a child can't learn. It's that no one has the time to really see them.

Our small group is off to a great start, and we still have room to grow.

If you've been worried about sending your child back to a school where they might get lost in the crowd, it's not too late to explore another option.
