Saturday was another amazing experience for Ichabod fans as we tailgated and celebrated a win for the Washburn football team. There are two home football games left for the 4-1-1 Ichabods. The next one is Homecoming, and the Alumni Association tailgate starts at noon for the 2 p.m. game against Missouri Western. Members get into the tailgate for free and non-members are $10. We serve food, b**r and other drinks while supplies last. https://www.wualumni.org/e/2026-alumni-tailgate-homecoming-ichabods-vs-missouri-western-state-university

Our annual Whiting Society dinner brings together donors who made Washburn University a part of their legacy with an estate gift to Washburn. Ultimately, their gifts will help students, and to show that impact, we always invite students to this dinner so the two groups can converse and share their stories. As you can see, this was a special time for both current and past Ichabod learners. We also heard from Washburn leadership, including Craig Carter, senior lecturer and field placement director in the Washburn Education Department. He shared how he sees firsthand scholarships and other gifts changing students' lives, and how those students go on to change lives as teachers.

If an estate gift or other planned gift to Washburn is something you're interested in, visit https://wualumni.planmylegacy.org/ and then contact us. It could be as simple as making the Washburn University Foundation a beneficiary of your retirement plan or as intricate as a trust, an annuity, a gift of real estate or more. Our website and our executive director of legacy giving can help you find the gift right for you and work through the process.
