Thank You for an Amazing 2026 Alison Connell Memorial Golf Tournament!

We are so overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support, generosity, and community spirit shown at this year’s tournament. Because of all of you, we are thrilled to officially share the totals raised this year!

Here is the impact you made:

Gary Woodland Drive: Raised $760 for the Washburn Rural Lady Blues Golf Team!

Wheel of Fortune: Raised $830 for the Seaman Lady Vikes Golf Team!

In Honor of Lucy Lou: $1,000 donated to Topeka Community Cat Fix!

And drumroll please... A massive $13,598 raised for the Alpha Phi Foundation in support of their Heart to Heart Grant!

The Heart to Heart Grant directly funds researchers who are dedicated to studying women’s heart health and finding lifesaving answers.

Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers, golfers, sponsors, family, and friends who make this tournament possible. It is because of your generosity that Alison’s memory lives on so brightly while making a real difference right here in our community.

Today marks two years since we lost our dear friend Alison. Taken from us far too soon, Alison left behind a bright legacy of kindness, generosity, and community that continues to touch so many lives. While she is deeply missed every single day, her incredible spirit shines on through the love, time, and support you all continue to give in her memory.

Nothing quite says "Happy Monday!" like walking out to your car, ready to conquer the world, only to find your tire looking like a sad, deflated pancake.

And the best part? The little metallic culprit literally screwed into the tread, gleaming in the morning sun like a microscopic trophy of bad luck.

Now, under normal circumstances, a flat tire in 90-degree heat is a one-way ticket to a sweat-drenched existential crisis. But today? Today the universe picked the wrong victim.

Enter the superheroes of the morning: Harold's Tire, East Topeka.

Not only do these folks step up to sponsor awesome community events like the Alison Connell Memorial Golf Tournament, but they also patch a tire in blistering 90-degree heat, lightning-fast, and with actual smiles on their faces. I was sweating just standing there holding my keys, and they were out there casually saving my day without missing a beat.

That’s what true community is all about—showing up, giving back, and turning a complete "screw-up" into a reminder that good people are everywhere.

Today, we send our sweetest love up to heaven as we celebrate Alison's heavenly birthday.

Not a day goes by where we don't miss her bright presence, her warm spirit, and the joy she brought into all of our lives. Though she isn't here with us to celebrate, her love continues to surround us, and her legacy shines as brightly as ever.

We will forever honor her memory, celebrate her beautiful life, and keep her remarkable spirit alive through the annual memorial golf tournament that brings us all together in her honor.

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Alison. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure, today and always, 💖

We survived, we sweated, and we swung for the trees!

A massive, heartfelt thank you to all of our incredible golfers and generous sponsors who braved what felt like the literal surface of the sun for the Alison Connell Memorial Golf Tournament. You all officially melted, but you melted for a fantastic cause—and made the day an absolute, record-breaking success!

Between the 100-degree heat, the missing golf balls, and the heroic amounts of water (and let's be honest, liquid courage) consumed, you all proved you're absolute champions.

Enjoy some highlights from the day below! If you snapped any photos on the course, especially the ones where you aren't completely squinting or dripping in sweat—please tag us in them! We’d love to see your best swings and worst sunburns.

We are letting our calculators cool down alongside our golf carts, so we will share the final fundraising numbers in a couple of weeks once all the expenses are settled.

And because you can never start hydrating too early... SAVE THE DATE FOR NEXT YEAR - Saturday, July 24th! We will be back, hopefully with a slight breeze this time!
