Sparks are Flying! ⚡️

We wanted to send a massive, high-voltage THANK YOU to Jesses Welding and Repair LLC for sponsoring the Alison Connell Memorial Golf Tournament!

When it came to supporting a great cause, Jesse didn’t weld under pressure. He stepped right up to the tee to help us bridge the gap for women’s heart health.

We’re working hard to make sure everyone’s "ticker" stays in top-notch condition—because while Jesse can fix a rusty joint or a broken frame, even he knows you can’t just patch an artery with a MIG welder (though we'd love to see him try).

Every cent raised is heading straight to the Alpha Phi Foundation to support education and research for women’s heart health. It’s a cause that really strikes a chord with us, and thanks to sponsors like Jesse, our mission is iron-clad.

We're back for Round 2 of the Alison Connell Memorial Golf Tournament, and we promise it's going to be bigger, better, and possibly even funnier than last year (depending on how many golf balls end up in the water hazards).

We're teaming up with the fabulous ladies of Alpha Phi Sorority, Washburn University Chapter, to support the Alpha Phi Foundation, which has been dedicated to improving women's heart health since 1946.

We are looking for Round 2 sponsors to help cover the costs, provide awesome raffle prizes and golfer swag. All donations help us maximize our donation!

Sponsoring comes with bragging rights. And trust us, bragging about saving lives looks way better than bragging about your golf scores!

A year ago today, the world lost a truly beautiful soul. One year ago, we said goodbye to our dear Alison.

It's hard to believe it's been a whole year without her infectious laugh, the kind that could make even the worst day feel a little brighter. We miss her hugs, the ones that filled your soul with love and worth. Alison had a way of lighting up every room she entered, and her absence is a darkness that is deeply felt.

There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think of you, Alison. The memories we made together are etched in our hearts forever. We would do anything for just one more day, one more laugh, one more hug. You are so deeply missed by so many.

Remembering you today and always, friend.❤️

Well, folks, we did it. We survived our first Mac Tournament without our fearless leader, Alison. And by “survived,” I mean we came, we saw, we sliced way more balls into the woods than we care to admit, and then we ate our feelings in hot dogs.

The first few holes were rough. But amidst the watery eyes and questionable swings, we found our rhythm. The laughs were plentiful, the bad swings were in full force, and our putting skills were a sight to see!

The tournament will truly never be the same without her. Her absence was felt in every tee shot, every missed putt, and every cooler stop. But we made it through, and we’ll continue to honor her legacy by making sure we're laughing, showing up on time (at least two of us), dropping perfectly placed F-Bombs, and enjoying the day despite the way we play!

Cheers to you, Alison. We missed you, we remembered you, and we'll keep the tradition alive!

Good morning, golf goddesses and kings of the fairway! 🏌️‍♀️👑 We know many of you are already out there, probably nursing a pre-tournament coffee (or something stronger) on your way to the Mac Tournament . Don't worry, we'll be rolling in this afternoon, fashionably late, just kidding Alison!

It's a bittersweet morning for us, for sure. This tournament was, without a doubt, Alison's absolute favorite. From the sheer joy of seeing all her favorite people, to her Dad tirelessly manning the coolers (a true hero, honestly), she was all smiles. (Okay, maybe not all smiles. There was that one time I was a few minutes late picking her up. Let's just say she had a very expressive "Are you (insert F bomb here) kidding me right now?" look.)

We're really going to miss her iconic pre-tournament text, usually delivered with the precision of a perfectly placed tee shot: "Ladies, don't forget the Mac Tournament this Saturday! Be there by noon! Mindy, don't worry, I'll remind you again. And again. And once more Saturday morning." Pure Alison.

But here’s the deal: we decided months ago that Alison would absolutely disown us if we dared dismantle her team. She'd want us out there, soaking up the sun, maybe sinking a few birdies (and definitely a few beers), just like she would have. So, we’re up, the clubs are practically vibrating with anticipation, and we're ready to hit the course to play for our girl and honor her vibrant spirit.

The old tree stump, a beast that refused to give up without a fight, is finally gone. After a heroic battle and some colorful language, Alison's memorial garden is officially finished. The new tree is planted, extra dirt is in place, and a fresh blanket of mulch now beautifully hides all the evidence of our mishaps. It's a perfect tribute, and honestly, a testament to what a few Alison approved F-bombs can accomplish!

A Wild Success!

Well, folks, we did it! The inaugural Alison Connell Memorial Golf Tournament is officially in the books, and let's just say, the only thing better than the weather was the incredible generosity you all showed! From the first tee-off to the final putt (and maybe a few stray balls in the water), your support was absolutely phenomenal.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to every single golfer who braved the course and the heat, every sponsor who helped us make this happen, and our incredible volunteers who kept everything running smoothly. And a special shout-out to our Furball Frenzy sponsor, Tailgators Sports Pub & Grub, for making sure our golf bags were full with all the golfing essentials, hosting the awards, and after party. Your kindness blew us away!

Speaking of kindness, we're thrilled to announce the grand totals raised, which will make a real difference in our community!

First up, a fantastic $800 was raised at the Gary Woodland hole, which will be donated to the Topeka West High School Lady Chargers golf team! We hope this helps them swing for the fences!

Next, the Seaman High School Lady Vikings golf team absolutely crushed it on hole 12 with their "Wheel of Fortune," raising a whopping $1,070! They're definitely pros at fundraising, too!

And finally, the moment you've all been waiting for. In honor and memory of Alison and her beloved cat, Lucy Lou, we were so proud to present a check for an incredible $12,000 to Topeka Community Cat Fix! We know for sure Alison and Lucy Lou are purring with pride.

Thank you again for making this day so special. We couldn't have asked for a better way to honor Alison's memory, and we're already looking forward to next year! Save the date, July 25th, we will be back bigger and better!

A very Happy Birthday to Carrie Stead! Carrie and Alison were not only great friends, golfing partners, but birthday buddies too! 🎉🎂🥳
