Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms!

Thank you for putting up with the mess from countless campouts, washing piles of dirty laundry after our adventures, packing extra snacks just in case dinner doesn’t go as planned, and always making sure we are prepared for whatever comes our way.

Your support, encouragement, and love help make every Scout adventure possible. Thank you for being the best moms a Scout could ask for!

Troop guides serve as both a leader and a mentor to the members of the new-Scout patrol. They should be an older Scout who holds at least the First Class

Eight past and present Black Lions descended on Philmont Scout Ranch this week. We volunteered helping PSR get ready for the summer.

Tasks included tent/sun shade repair, setting up tents, cleaning the Maxwell House/Kit Carson Museum, and packaging food for crews along with some other smaller tasks. We helped package about 27,000 meals and pre-sorted upwards of 15 pallets of food.

Did you know Philmont packages their own meals. For 2026 they will prep 207,000 meal bags, each bag feeds two participants.

The week was concluded with a beautiful hike to Blue Stem Camp for views of Baldy Mountain and the Colorado Rockies.
