Despite overwhelming bipartisan support in both the House and Senate, the Governor has vetoed House Bill 2044, a vital piece of legislation that would have provided essential state income tax relief for some Kansas National Guard service members.

We highly encourage all members and supporters to reach out to your local legislators. Share your feelings on the importance of this bill and how you want it to be a consideration in the next session.

The fact that we got this bill passed with bipartisan support in both the House and Senate is a step in the right direction. Thanks to all who got it this far.

Support Duty Status Reform! 🇺🇸
The National Guard needs a simpler, fairer system. Right now, there are over 30 different ways to be called to duty. It’s confusing and affects your pay and benefits.

We are making Duty Status Reform our #1 priority for the 2027 defense budget. It’s time to streamline the system and ensure every Guard member is treated fairly.

📢 How You Can Help
Contact your Reps: Urge them to co-sponsor the Duty Status Reform Act.
Spread the Word: Share this post with your unit and family.

The association is accelerating its push for Duty Status Reform, its top priority in deliberations on fiscal 2027 defense legislation.
