We have been so fortunate to have Secretary Burghart on our board of directors. His leadership will be missed.

Join us this Thursday at the TownSite Plaza for the 3rd Annual INK Showcase Event. We will discuss changing coming in our organizational structure and the Kansas Information Consortium will be demonstrating their tools.

Most importantly, this will be a great opportunity for state and local government leaders to share our ideas and needs with us, so we may assist you better.

The showcase will be held on the 16th floor of the Townsite Plaza beginning at 1:30 PM this Thursday, June 4th.

We are taking grant applications now through the end of this month for new projects.

We will host our annual showcase event at the Townsite Plaza this year. The event will start at 1:30 pm on June 4th.

The Information Network of Kansas will be accepting grant applications in May.

INK has provided nearly 11 million in grants over the years to governmental agencies. The grant program is part of INK’s mission is to enable digital access to state and local government information and services for public use and benefit. The grants are made possible from the proceeds generated from the services developed by INK.

Grant applications are accepted from May 1 to May 31. They are available online from the INK website at ink.kansas.gov or by e-mail upon request to INK Executive Director Murray McGee.
Past projects funded through the INK Grant program include the following:

• Assessment Connect (Kansas Department of Revenue)
• Statewide Broadband Mapping (Kansas Department of Commerce)
• Updating the Amber Alert System (Kansas Bureau of Investigation)
• Online Streaming of Legislative Committee Hearings (Kansas Legislature)
• Migrating program data for the Public Transparency Database (Kansas Department of Commerce)
• Statewide integrated data hub for social insights addressing homelessness (WSU Public Policy and Management Center)

All grant awards must be approved by the Information Network of Kansas Board of Directors.

Information Network of Kansas, Executive Director Murray McGee recently received special recognition from the University of Kansas Public Management Center. Earlier this month, KU honored their 2025 Heartland Certified Public Manager Program (CPM) graduating class which included INK Board Member Kayla Savage from the Kansas Department of Commerce.

Information Network of Kansas (INK) Executive Director Murray McGee, who received his CPM credentials in 2016 was among a select group who were also recognized as recipients of the "CPM with Distinction" designation. This is a special honor for CPM graduates who complete 40 hours of continuing education credit and continue to utilize their skills to serve the public.

The CPM is a nationally accredited management program and certification in which participants develop and strengthen their management skills through a competency-based curriculum.

Governor Laura Kelly recently announced the reappointment of Kyle Niemann of Overland Park to the Information Network of Kansas (INK) Board of Directors.

INK operates with a 9 member board that includes representatives of state agencies as well as statewide organizations. The mission of INK is to provide Kansans with equal electronic access to state, county, local and other public information.
