Troop 304 attended the 49th Annual Trappers Rendezvous last weekend, along with 3,100 other scouts and leaders, and experienced some serious winter conditions.
We had snow flurries Friday night, and by Saturday the wind chill stayed in the negatives all day. It was cold, but still worth the experience.
The Scouts took part in the trading that makes Trappers Rendezvous unique, worked on traditional skills, and participated in shooting sports. With the extreme temperatures, we made the decision to camp Friday night only and head home early, keeping safety as our top priority.
The girls handled the conditions well and showed teamwork, preparedness, and good judgment throughout the weekend. We are proud of how they represented Troop 304 and Scouts BSA.
