I’m here again today asking—actually, begging—for a little help for Poppy.
We have 65 pumpkins to sell at just $5 each, and I can’t draw our winner until they’re all gone. More importantly, we desperately need those donations to help with Poppy’s veterinary bills.
Right now, we have raised only $100 of the $780 we already owe for her care…and I’m scared.
Poppy is going to need more veterinary care, and I’m looking at what we already owe and wondering how we’re going to do it. I keep telling myself, “We’ll figure it out. We always do.” But anyone who has ever been involved in rescue knows there are days when that becomes really hard to believe.
Today is one of those days.
We take in the dogs no one else wants—the seniors, the sick, the unwanted, the ones who need someone to say, “Your life still matters.” We don’t regret saying yes to them. But sometimes saying yes comes with a bill we simply cannot handle alone.
So today, I’m asking my friends and our amazing supporters:
Could you spare just $5 for Poppy?
Maybe today it means giving up one Dutch Bros coffee, skipping a snack, or tossing the $5 you might have spent on something small into Poppy’s pumpkin fundraiser instead.
I’ve actually given up my Dutch Bros for the month because right now every extra dollar I have is going toward these fur kids. And I would do it all over again. They deserve someone willing to fight for them.
But I can’t do this alone.
If enough of our friends each give just $5, those pumpkins will be gone, we can draw our winner, and—most importantly—we can put that money toward Poppy’s vet bill and breathe just a little easier.
