It’s time for a fun new experience as our kittens join a classics class this coming Saturday September 12th at Pure Barre! Enjoy an instructor led barre class all while supporting our rescue efforts.

Registration is $20 and goes entirely towards supporting the rescue. You can register at the studio or by calling them at 785-330-5760.

Pure Barre is located at 4821 W 6th St Ste L, Lawrence, KS 66049.

Yes, you read that correctly, we’re bringing kittens into the studio and we’re going to have the absolute best time! Class will begin at 4:00 p.m. and is limited to ages 16 and up. Team Kitten is a foster-based rescue primarily located in Topeka We are working to create a community where all kittens are considered precious. Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate at-risk kittens, and prepare them for loving homes. Since being founded in 2023 Team Kitten has taken in over 1800 kittens from 30 different counties in Northeast Kansas. Each kitten brought into one of our foster homes receives full medical care, and love, before being spayed or neutered. That is one fewer future litter we prevent by addressing the crisis in the beginning of the cycle. While there is no one fix to such a large problem, Team Kitten stands proudly amongst other local organizations in the fight against cat overpopulation.

Chloe has let us know it’s time to let go.

We took her FIP diagnosis as a rallying call because we know how to handle FIP. She has gotten the best meds and all the supportive care we could conceive of, so much attention, snuggles, baths, and anything she wanted to eat (including pancakes for some reason).

But her little body can’t handle anymore, and we will let her go peacefully even though we don’t want to. We’ve given her the best life we could, from the day we crawled into the bushes to rescue her, to the weeks in an incubator being fed the best formula, to her joyful days in her foster home with her siblings. The pictures from that time are how we will choose to remember her.

She deserved more. We hope there is a cat heaven where her mama is waiting for her. We love you, Chloe.

Send all of your good thoughts, please, as we treat 10 week old Chloe for Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

FIP is a secondary disease that stems from an initial coronavirus infection. It is an immune disease caused by a mutation, and it isn’t contagious, but until a few years ago it was considered fatal. Now with newly available meds, we have successfully treated FIP in 6 older kittens with the guidance of our personal guardian angel and FIP Advocate, Kimberly Dawn-Merr.

Chloe is the youngest kitten we’ve had diagnosed with FIP. Within days she went from an adorable, chubby and playful kitten almost ready to spay - to barely over 1lb, pale and wobbly, dehydrated and having trouble staying warm and feeding herself. We have given the first 2 of 84 doses of life-saving medicine and are keeping our fingers crossed that she has the energy to hang in there while it does its work.

Rest assured Chloe is getting plenty of attention and care, day and night, and is fiercely loved by this team and especially by her foster, Paula. If she can pull through, we will continue to fight alongside her.

🚨Adoption Special Time!🚨

Thanks to a grant provided by Northeast Kansas Animal Welfare Foundation we're able to offer discounted adoption fees. Until Sunday August 30th you can adopt one of our 20 adoptable felines for just 💲5️⃣0️⃣!

Adoptions are crucial as we field daily intake requests and pleas for help. Without space in our foster homes we can't rescue. Each adoption opens up a spot and helps us care for more kittens at-need in our community. Not to mention the warm and fuzzy feelings that come with each adoption 🥰

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. A month's worth of food is covered in their adoption fee too!
