Here at Team Kitten we take summer reading challenges very seriously. Introducing our Pride and Prejudice litter. 📖. Mama Jane came to us with her five kittens just four weeks after giving birth in a garage. The whole family is thriving in foster! No one raises kittens as well as a mama cat. We're grateful to our fosters and volunteers that help us keep little families like this together. Giving kittens, and mom, the best chance at a happy and healthy future.

What a difference 12 hours makes! This sweet girl was previously living under a dumpster. After a night spent safe and dry indoors, she’s relaxed so much - even showing off some serious purrs and allowing belly rubs 🥰

Thank you to Tina for giving this kitten a loving environment to grow up big and strong before finding her forever home.

We get a lot of messages this time of year asking if we have specific types of kittens available for adoption. Let's just say with 140 currently in our care the short answer is yes.

Long Answer:

- Color Points? So many! Even a few that look like they've witnessed war crimes.
- Infinite Voids with big eyes? Absolutely!
- Special Needs? From partially blind to EXTREMELY orange we have you covered
- Bob Tails? We have a few little bunny butts scampering around
- Bunny Tested? Believe it or not, yes. At Lawrence Pride last weekend a few of our kittens got up close and personal with an adorable bunny! Not to mention ones in their foster homes.🐰
- Long Haired? Atleast a dozen trying to stay cool getting bigger and fluffier by the day.
- Dog Friendly? Many of our fosters have dogs who are hard at work inspecting and sniffing out their kittens
- Fancy Tuxedo Gentleman? Ours even come with the most insane whiskers you've ever seen
- Polydactyls? Extra toes and ready to go!
- Orange Females? Naturally

These photos are just a few examples of the kittens in our care. We would be here all day if we tried to list out all of our 'inventory'.

Most of these cuties will become available in the next 2-3 weeks! Keep an eye out on our website or follow the instructions in the comments to submit an application ahead of time :)

While we are deeply saddened about Topeka Cat Cafe closing, we want to reassure our community that Team Kitten continues on.

Since our inception in 2023 we have rescued, fixed, or improved the lives of over 1700 cats! Losing an adoption partner makes things a little more tricky, but that doesn’t mean we’ll give up!

Join us for kitten yoga with Spindrift Soul with Suzi on June 13th at Yellow Brick Yoga! From 1:30 to 2:30 enjoy instructor led yoga followed by an hour of free play with some rambunctious and adorable kittens.

Your registration fee goes entirely towards our local rescue efforts. With nearly 150 kittens in our care, every dollar makes a difference ❤️

Meet a few of the 150 kittens in our care!

Mama Orla and her six fluffs came to us as newborns in mid-April. Which feels like practically an aeon ago during kitten season 😅 Orla is one of the most attentive mama cats we’ve ever had. She stayed glued to her babies and helped them grow into adorable and healthy kittens. Besides one fake grumpy girl, her children turned out just as friendly and loving as she is.

P.S: One of them has extra toes!!!

We are past capacity. Our intakes are currently closed. We will continue to support the 150 kittens in our care, and our already approved Last Litter families, but we have stopped taking in new kittens for a the foreseeable future. We do not keep a waiting list.

We wanted to remind everyone that Team Kitten is not an emergency service. We are a group of volunteers trying our best to reduce the suffering of local kittens with the help of our supporters and our vet team. There is no paid staff or shelter building. Just a group of dedicated fosters and volunteers doing their best.

Our team is already caring for 150 kittens. We can’t go get that kitten out of the sewer or drop everything at 10pm to do “something” about kittens you hear crying under your porch. We can’t remove stray cats in your neighborhood that bother you in some way. We aren’t a TNR service that can help fix a colony of feral cats.

Some resort to despicable and heartbreaking threats. To be clear: if you threaten to hurt or dump kittens unless we help, we will report you to the authorities. We will also block you if you call and text repeatedly and get belligerent.

Here’s what we can do while caring for 150 kittens.: We can point you towards local resources and information. We can help you find videos and articles that explain how to bottle feed the neonate that mom abandoned. We can provide guidance on aging a kitten you found. We can try respond to compassionate caregivers who are showing patience, gratitude, and a willingness to inconvenience themselves in order to care for a found kitten.

We understand better than most how helpless it feels this time of year. There are more animals that need help than resources. Team Kitten is a small rescue. Please be kind and patient with us.

What a difference just a few days can make!

Under the watchful eye of a caretaker, this trio lived in a shed with their mom. One rainy day she discovered that another mom and kittens had moved into the shed. After searching, she found the three original kittens outside and alone in the rain. Unable to find their mom, she reached out to us for help.

The siblings were skeptical of people upon arrival and had some seriously goopy eyes. After being loved on by their foster mom, they’ve quickly come to realize that it’s not so bad to be indoors 🥰

Thank you to Madi for fostering Ed, Carl, and Big Ed! They’ve thrived in foster and are growing into playful healthy kittens.
