Annual Meeting Recap!

Thank you to everyone who attended our Annual Meeting on Saturday! It was wonderful to gather, reflect on our growth, and look ahead to an exciting year.

We are delighted to announce the election of Kate Duncan Butler as Vice President! After serving as an interim Board Member at Large for the past three months, Kate officially steps into this leadership role, and we are so grateful for her dedication.

We also warmly welcome Tanya Dorf Brunner to the board. Many of you know Tanya from her work as a stage manager and company member. She brings extensive nonprofit, board, and theatre experience, and we’re thrilled to have her perspective and expertise helping guide Lady Shakes forward.

We also discussed upcoming programming for this year. Our third annual Lady Shakes After Dark returns July 18 at The Foundry. Expect the same beloved mischief and shenanigans — but bigger and better — with more music, brand-new skits, expanded raffle prizes, and elevated technical production. You won’t want to miss it.

This spring also brings member performance opportunities throughout the community, along with the return of our theatre skills class — free to company members and open to the public for a fee. More details coming soon!

We’re especially excited about our full-length production of Measure For Measure. Director Alex Reilly shared her bold vision for a 1920s Jazz Age setting for this compelling work that confronts the mistreatment of women in a way that still resonates deeply today.

We wrapped up the afternoon with a screening of a modernized 2020 Australian production of Measure For Measure, leaving us inspired for the journey ahead.
