Foster Grandparents, please be extra safe this weekend, as you enjoy the holiday.

A Heat Advisory is in effect from 1 PM Wednesday to 8 PM Friday for much of central/east central/north central/northeast Kansas with heat indices up to 106°F. Take precautions, stay hydrated, and never leave kids/pets in cars.

☀️ Grandparents, please take extra care of yourselves this week and stay cool! 🥵💦

With the hot weather, it’s especially important to drink plenty of water throughout the day—even if you don’t feel thirsty. Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks from the heat.

If you don’t have air conditioning, consider visiting family or friends who do, or spend some time in a cool public place such as a library, restaurant, store, church, or community center.

Most importantly, stay safe, stay cool, and drink plenty of water! ❤️

And please remember to check on your friends and neighbors, especially those who may be older or living alone, to make sure they are safe and doing okay.

The dedicated FGPNEKS staff and Ms. Lillie joined together this morning, to plan a special event for all of our Foster Grandparents of Northeast Kansas. And three little supervisors, to make sure it will be extraordinary. Thank you Ms. Lillie, Jeff, Jordan, Anita, Maria, Rachel, and Jennifer. We can't wait to share more with you!

We had the pleasure of having two groups join us yesterday, August 10th, at our August In-Service Training, to inform us about their organizations. Thank you Community Action and Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging, for sharing your
