Our field trip to the Kansas History Museum today was educational, eye opening and a bit exhausting. Barbara, being a veteran visitor of museums here and in Europe, calls it museum fatigue. Can you imagine how quickly that would set in at The Smithsonian?! Thank God and museum planners for strategically placed benches!

Tonight at 6:15 we meet for a unique Words in the Wind at Round Table Bookstore. We’ll be doing a video of our writers doing brief readings of their work. The video will then be edited and used to compile a promotion for our planned House Concerts. Stay tuned for more information.

Our November open mic, "Words in the Wind," will feature some brave souls who have decided to carry on the NaNoWriMo tradition despite its no longer being official.

11/09/2025

The Topeka Chapter of the Kansas Authors Club invites everyone to our November Open Mic where we will feature Topeka writers who challenge themselves to write 50,000 words during the 30 days of November. All Writers are welcome to read from their work-in-progress or published works. NaNoRhinos are invited to show how they included the 2025 challenge of "too many ducks" in their work. Round Table Bookstore graciously allows up to use their space. Round Table Bookstore includes a coffee bar with several tables, so please come and write your way to 50,000 words while we read. If you are unable to personally attend, the event will be livestreamed on Facebook. Round Table Bookstore closes at 8 PM, so you'll get home at a decent time to continue your Thanksgiving Day preparations.
