Tooele County Search and Rescue got to reunite with the husky mix rescued Sunday evening. Hachi, and his owners invited us to meet under more comfortable circumstances. We would like to thank FTO officer Matt Gochis for being at the rescue and the Salt Lake BLM office for hosting us this evening.

On September 27 at approximately 4:50pm our team received a call that a dog had fallen head first into a mine. The mine was located high on the mountain west of Grantsville. The rescue was a challenge due to the narrow opening and lack of anchor points. With a little creative rigging a member of the team was able to get to the husky, create a makeshift harness and the dog was able to be lifted and reunited with his owner.
