In celebration of the United States of America's 250th birthday (July 4, Independence Day), we are spotlighting our incredible VFW Auxiliaries across the country by posting one photo from each of the 50 Department Conventions held in 2026.

In June, we asked members to submit "One Perfect Photo" and throughout the weekend we will be posting them in order of when each U.S. state joined the Union, followed by two additional posts celebrating our four Department-Unaffiliated Auxiliaries. Thank you to all who participated!

As a bit of history, while the VFW Auxiliary was officially formed in September, 1914, our very first Auxiliaries, which were attached to the predecessor organizations of the VFW, date back to 1903 and 1905, which means we have been showing Unwavering Support for Uncommon Heroes for about half of the nation's history. We hope you feel proud to be part of such a longstanding, hardworking organization that makes a positive difference in the lives of veterans and their families every day and we are excited to recognize you, our members, on this special occasion.

Here's to another 250 years, America!

We appreciate everyone who came out for one of our Memorial Day ceremonies! Thanks for joining us in remembering and honoring our Veterans ❤️🇺🇸❤️🫡

Please join us Monday, Memorial Day, for one of our ceremonies!
While Veterans Day celebrates the service of all past and present military veterans, Memorial Day is a time to honor and mourn the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the Armed Forces.
Freedom isn't free. 🇺🇸
