The Towne Players of Ken-Ton are seeking 9 actors for our hilarious October production of:
The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s guild dramatic society’s production of MacBeth.
By: David Mcgillivray and Walter Zerlin JR.
Directed by Lara Haberberger
SUMMARY: The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society ladies mount yet another assault on the classics with a startlingly original production of Macbeth staged to get them to the Welwyn Garden City Finals. Under the carefully mascara'd eye of adjudicator George Peach, all events conspire hilariously against them.
WHEN: Monday and Tuesday, May 18th and 19th at 6:30 to 8:30pm.
WHERE: Sheridan Parkside Community Center.
169 Sheridan Parkside Drive.
Tonawanda, NY 14150.
SHOW DATES: October 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th 7:30.
And October 4th, 11th at 2:00.
ROLES:
*This play is farce where the actors are trying their best to act out Shakespeare’s Macbeth. There is some improv involved. Physicality is important for all characters.
Mrs. Reece (female) – 50’s up – the leader of the theater guild. Plays Lady MacDuff and the Doctor in the Scottish play. Some improv needed. Disorganized and nothing bothers her.
Thelma – (female) 30’s and up, diva, plays MacBeth and Ross. She knows her Shakespeare. Has no patience for the shenanigans going on.
Felicity (female) – 20’s, nervous housewife, plays 2nd Witch, Seyton, 1st Murderer, Malcolm, Gentlewoman. Bubble headed.
Dawn (female) – 50’s up – flighty older woman, plays First Witch, Porter, 2nd Murderer, Duncan, Fleance. Loses character a lot.
Kate (female) 30’s – in crutches, plays 3rd Witch, MacDuff, Messenger. Keeps getting into accidents. Just had a baby.
Minnie – 40’s – lost her voice, plays Banquo and Lady MacDuff’s Son. Very distracted.
Henry (male) – Over 30, stage manager who gets roped into playing Lady MacBeth. Always is a stage manager.
George Peach (male) any age – flamboyant adjudicator for the play. Will need to dress in drag. Some improv needed.
David Plummer (male) – 40’s and up, producer of the show, very intense man. Not able to deal with the chaos.
