Helping Others Grow (HOG

) is a non-profit organization that supports family-serving agencies. We build upon existing programs to promote protective factors and address children’s physical, social, emotional, and behavioral wellness. We firmly believe that in order to help children, you must support their family.

What are protective factors? The five protective factors are the foundation of the Strengthening Families approach. Extensive research supports that when these factors are present and robust in a family, the family is healthier. The five protective factors include:

Parental Resilience
Social Connections
Concrete Support in Times of Need
Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development
Social and Emotional Competence of Children
