🚗💙 What if a car you no longer need could help someone remain safely in the home they love?

For millions of older Americans, home repairs and modifications can make an important difference in their ability to live safely and comfortably at home.

Through Habitat for Humanity’s Cars for Homes program, your unwanted vehicle can help generate funding that supports Habitat’s housing work in communities across the country.

One vehicle. A new purpose. And the opportunity to help make home safer for someone else. 🏠

🧡🔨 Bright energy, big smiles, and a determination to get the job done!

We recently welcomed Team Depot volunteers for a Repair Corps project at Jessica’s home in Toms River — and this crew came ready to work!
Together, they replaced 13 windows throughout Jessica’s home, helping make an important improvement to her comfort, safety, and quality of life.

From the moment they arrived, this team brought incredible energy and teamwork to the project. We are so grateful to The Home Depot Foundation and Team Depot for their commitment to improving the homes and lives of veterans and for putting that commitment into action right here in our community.

Thank you for spending the day building alongside us and showing just how much can be accomplished when a great group comes together! 💙🏠

Atlanta, You Inspired Us! 💙🏠

Last week, CEO Kristine Novakowski, Partnerships & Development Manager Lisa Peck-LaMarca, and Marketing & Volunteer Coordinator Lindsey Morgan traveled to Atlanta for the 2026 Habitat for Humanity Affiliate Conference, joining Habitat staff and leaders from across the country and around the world.

With Habitat celebrating 50 years, it was the perfect opportunity to connect, learn, share ideas, and celebrate everything this incredible movement has accomplished together. We’re coming home with fresh ideas, new connections, and plenty of inspiration to bring back to Northern Ocean County!

One of the best parts of being together is remembering that while we each serve our own communities, we’re all working toward the same goal — helping more people have a safe, affordable place to call home. 🏡

We’re excited to take what we learned and put it into action right here at home. 💙🔨

Many hands — and a few new windows — make a big difference! 🪟🔨

A huge thank you to the team from SUBURBAN CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC. for spending the day with Northern Ocean Habitat for a recent Group Build!

Their team rolled up their sleeves alongside our construction team to help replace multiple windows for a homeowner in Whiting through our Critical Home Repair Program. These improvements make a home more comfortable, energy efficient, and secure — and we’re grateful to have community partners willing to lend their time and talents to make the work possible.

Thank you, Suburban Consulting Engineers, for showing up for our neighbors and helping us open the door to safer, healthier homes throughout Northern Ocean County! 💙🏠

A special award deserved a special design. 💙

This year’s Doorways of Hope Gala marked the beginning of a new tradition with the presentation of our inaugural Dick Read Legacy of Service Awards.

We had a vision for an award that would be as unique and meaningful as the four volunteers receiving it — and Mike Ruggiero of RivenWood Mill Supply & Design brought that vision to life.

Mike designed and handcrafted four beautiful custom awards for Arnie Oftedal, Patrick Lamont, Bill Dudeck, and Gerry Pizzi, creating something that truly reflected the significance of this recognition and the legacy behind it.

A huge thank you to Mike for sharing your talent and craftsmanship with Northern Ocean Habitat. We couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful way to recognize these four incredible volunteers. 💙

Happy World Habitat Day! 🏡💙

Think about what "home" means to you. Maybe it's the smell of dinner cooking, a spot on the couch that's yours, or a front door you can't wait to walk through at the end of the day. Everyone deserves that feeling.

That's why we do what we do. Every day, our volunteers, partners, and homeowners are opening doors to safer, more stable homes right here in our community, and we couldn't do it without you.

🏠💙 $25,000 toward opening the door to home!

One of the most exciting moments of our Doorways of Hope Gala came when New Jersey Natural Gas presented Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity with a $25,000 check to sponsor our 26th home build in Bayville!

This incredible support will help turn plans into walls, walls into a home, and an opportunity for affordable homeownership into a reality for a local family.

We are so grateful to NJNG for continuing to invest in our work and in the communities we share. Partnerships like this are an important part of what makes each new home possible.

Thank you, New Jersey Natural Gas, for helping us open another door to home in Ocean County! 🔑🏡

Generosity can take many forms — even one that’s been sitting in your driveway. 💙

A vehicle you no longer need can become a meaningful way to support Habitat for Humanity’s work. Through Cars for Homes, donated vehicles help generate funds that support the work of building strength, stability, and brighter futures through housing.

As Habitat celebrates 50 years of building alongside communities, every act of generosity helps keep that work moving forward.

Have a vehicle you’re ready to part with? Give it a new purpose.
