All are welcome regardless of ship type/shore command, branch of service as well as family members & anyone interested who supports our objectives. Are you interested in our ships & sea services & their history? Do you feel it’s important to support the ships of the historic fleet (including destroyers)? Join us! Membership is open to the following:
• Those who served aboard any type of ship or sh
ore command – Not just Destroyers!
• Those who served in any of the Sea Services (United States or foreign) – US Navy, US Coast Guard, US Merchant Marines, US Military Sealift Command, etc.
• Those who are members of Historical Organizations, Museums, etc. and/or have an interest in & support any of the above.
• Those who had or have family members who served or are now serving on or in any of the above. Membership Dues: $20 per year
We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 12 noon at the George P. Vanderveer, American Legion Post # 129 - 2025 Church Road, Toms River, NJ 08753

BACKGROUND
Our association was founded Sept. 1992 at the Gifford Yacht Club in Toms River, NJ. It relocated in 1995 to the VFW post on Ridge Rd in Manasquan, NJ. We then relocated to our present location at the American Legion Post 129, Toms River, NJ. Many in our association are members of National Tin Can Sailors, Inc. Our association is involved in the following:
• Local Parades
• Educational Displays & Programs.
• Funeral Services for Deceased Shipmates.
• Supporting our Local Veterans.
• Supporting the Historic Fleet & Museum Programs.
• Supporting the Navy Memorial “Stories of Service” Program & arranging interview opportunities. We are the proud owner of an 8 1/2-foot Gearing Class Destroyer model "USS ALLSHIPS" built by previous members of our group & is on display at American Legion Post 129.
