The members of the Women’s Club of Brick - Member Page donated dish soap and dish cloths and got them ready for delivery to Community Threads, the local shop for those in need.

Knit for Food Knit-a-thon Kicks Off Sixth Year

Knitters Unite to Support Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels

The Knit for Food Knit-a-thon, a 12-hour crafting event in support of organizations feeding the hungry, is gearing up for its sixth annual event on Saturday, April 11th, 2026 from 10am-10pm ET.

100% of funds raised will be equally divided between Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels.

Since our first year knitters have raised over $2 million dollars.
We anticipate 2026 to be our biggest year ever!

In the United States 48 million people, about one in 7 households (13.7 percent), experience food insecurity, or lack of access to an affordable, nutritious diet. Food insecurity has become a reality for even more Americans as the cost of basic food items has increased due to inflation. Far too many Americans struggle to put food on the table. Our participants are committed to raising funds to help ease this unnecessary suffering.

On April 11th, 2026, knitters from across the country will join together to participate in 12 hours of knitting. Everyone is welcome to participate in their choice of craft – it doesn’t have to be knitting. The critical aspect is raising funds. For those who raise $100 or more there will be morning and evening Zoom events that will include presentations by each of the four charities, knitting ergonomics, exercise for knitters, games and knitertainment!

There are several ways to participate and links to relevant pages are below:

1. Sign up to knit! Reach out to friends and family and ask them to sponsor your marathon.
2. Donate! Your money can help give someone a meal.
3. Spread the word! Tell your friends, family, guild, and any knitter you know!
