300 miles, 4 days, from New Jersey to Washington D.C. the team from Toms River Police, along with over 2600 other riders and their support crews raised money and rode in honor of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and died in the line of duty. Yesterday afternoon they rode their final leg into the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C.

We are proud to support our officers everyday. This week is a little extra special. Every year National Police Week is held during the month of May. This weeklong recognition coincides with National Peace Officers Memorial Day — May 15 — which President John F. Kennedy signed into law in 1962.

If you see an officer this week, no matter what part of the country you are in, be sure to thank them!

Today cadets were taught Defensive Tactics by Officers Williams and Cenicola. Defensive Tactics are a combination of techniques and physical control measures used in law enforcement and security to manage threats and de-escalate situations safely by utilizing body mechanics and police Jiu Jitsu. Cadets were trained in various maneuvers and taught safety as well.

The next few weeks will be used to train for their summer competition in Little Egg Harbor on June 27th. There are still spots available for agencies wishing to attend! Reach out to [email protected] for more information.

Getting ready for our summer competition on June 27 with some PT workouts! PT is just one of the components that will take place at our summer event. Cadets will be run though and graded on various scenarios as part of the competition.

Today, Cadets took part in the opening day ceremonies for Toms River East Little League. Cadets assisted with road closures and pedestrian traffic while the players and their families enjoyed their parade. Today also marks the official kick off of a busy 6 months of events for cadets!
