Tombstone Restoration Commission

Tombstone Restoration Commission The Tombstone Restoration Commission (TRC), is committed to historic preservation. This Victorian building stood empty until 1955, when TRC began restoration.

TRC has been integral to the survival of numerous historic buildings, most notably the 1882 Tombstone Courthouse, which served as a courthouse until 1929. In 1959, it was reborn as a museum, and today it houses priceless collections, original documents, and thousands of artifacts

🇺🇸Today the Tombstone Restoration Commission honors the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Because of their sacrifice, generations of Americans have had the opportunity to live, work, worship, build communities, preserve history, and enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

In a town like Tombstone, where history still walks our streets every day, Memorial Day reminds us that freedom always comes with a cost, and remembrance matters.

As we preserve the buildings, stories, and heritage of the past, we also honor the courage and sacrifice of those who helped protect America’s future.

Today we remember.
Today we honor.
Today we give thanks❤️

There’s something quietly fitting about spring showing up like this in Tombstone, not loud, not rushed, but steady, resilient, and full of color where you might least expect it.

Right outside the Tombstone Restoration Commission building, these cactus blooms remind us that preservation isn’t just about structures, it’s about place, continuity, and life carrying forward.

Just like the work being done to protect Tombstone’s historic spaces, these blooms don’t happen overnight. They come from care, patience, and roots that run deep.

🌸 Spring has a way of showing us that even in the desert, growth is always happening.

Take a moment when you’re walking Allen Street, look a little closer. There’s history all around you, and a little bit of spring too.

🎂Today we celebrate Arizona’s Birthday, marking 114 years of statehood. Arizona officially became the 48th state on February 14, 1912, and in honor of that legacy we are celebrating throughout 1912–2026 as part of this milestone year.

As stewards of Tombstone’s historic places and stories, the Tombstone Restoration Commission is proud to recognize Arizona’s rich history, enduring spirit, and the communities that continue to preserve it for future generations.

🎉Here’s to 114 years and counting🎉

✨ Preserving Tombstone’s history, one landmark at a time. ✨

The Tombstone Restoration Commission was proud to partner with the historic St. Paul’s Episcopal Church to support repairs to their bell tower, an important piece of Tombstone’s heritage.

This church has stood as a part of our community for generations, and we are grateful to be working together to help protect and preserve it for the future.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support historic preservation in Tombstone, it truly takes a community❤️
