BSA Troop 469

BSA Troop 469 Troop 469 is a Scouts BSA troop for young men ages 11-17 in the south Tomball & east Cypress areas. Troop 469 is a Scout-led troop.

Established in 1979, Troop 469 has been training scouts in leadership, citizenship, personal fitness, and other important life skills for over 45 years! Our Scouts plan the program and lead the activities, allowing them to grow in their leadership, communication, goal setting, planning, and organization skills. We are diverse in our interests and provide a wide variety of adventures and activities

including monthly campouts during the school year, hiking, tubing, canoeing, fishing, and STEM programs. Troop 469 scouts are active in the community with a commitment to service. Many have active leadership roles in Order of the Arrow (OA), which is Scouts BSA's honor society composed of Scouts who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Rank advancement for Scouts is self-paced allowing them to set goals with clear steps to achieve them. Even if a Scout does not reach Eagle Scout, they learn valuable life skills along the path. The Scouts BSA Merit Badge program provides Scouts an opportunity to explore more than 135 different hobbies, life skills, trades and careers. You never know what interests may be sparked through the diverse programming Scouting has to offer!

We had a great hiking campout at Village Creek State Park last weekend!

Older scouts used the campout to prepare for their 9-day backpacking trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in June.

Younger scouts got their first long hike, exposure to cooking with a backpack stove and a glimpse into high adventure opportunities when they are older.

Downtime included card games and a friendly game of football.

What a great article about Jimmy Carter’s involvement with Scouts!

Before serving as the 39th president of the United States, Jimmy Carter served in a smaller but just as vital role: his children’s Scout leader.
