To bring together the families of HPD Officers and members of the community in order to support the

The Houston Law Enforcement Officers Family Support Unit is a 501 (C)(3). This organization is founded by the dedicated families of HPD officers. We aim to provide resources and emotional support to our local Law Enforcement families. Mission Statement:

Our Organization was founded for the purpose of providing aid when an officer is involved in a line-of-duty accident. When these incidents occur,

the officer's income, and that of the family, are greatly reduced while the officer is on leave from the department. This is where our organization, the Houston Law Enforcement Officers Family Support Unit, may offer assistance. Since the officer is unable to receive a regular paycheck or pursue any overtime pay, or additional income from working a second job, his or her family is at risk of not meeting its needs. Our organization helps these officers by providing materials and support during those difficult times. Many of the officers and their family members need emotional as well as day-to-day support. The members of our organization are prepared and willing to step up and assist the family with some of their basic needs.

🥹WOW! Our friends at Blue Line Bears created this custom bear (using her Dad's actual uniform/patches) for the daughter of HPD's Senior Officer Alex Roberts. He lost his life in the line of duty on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 after serving nearly 15 years with the dept.

Blue Line Bears is an incredible nonprofit that took time to put this beautiful treasured bear together for our girl. It arrived on a special day & the family LOVES it.

From all of us at the Houston Police Family Support Unit, we wish her lots of love & sweet thoughts & a huge TY to B.L.B Team!

We lost a GREAT man: James Mays was part of our HPFSU fam for years. He gave sooo much back to our law enforcement community as a dedicated volunteer. He was GENUINELY a caring soul that will be deeply missed.

He is reunited w his sweet Mama Mays, who passed last year.

*Though I lost my Mom years ago, this precious lady would constantly call, text & check in on me. She made me feel loved & watched over, always telling us she was praying for our family & my LEO, Blake. I'm forever grateful for that love. James & Michelle were the same, showing such accepting love for us.*

He loved his wife, Michelle Mays, fiercely. Please keep the & the whole family in your prayers.

Additionally, they prioritize the professional development of OSSO members by offering a range of training and educational opportunities.
