As we come to the end of Collins 8 Day, we wanted to share a special update from one of last year’s Collins 8 scholarship winners! 💙⚾️

“I have had such a great first year at Texas A&M, and I am so grateful for the role that the Collins 8 Foundation played in blessing me with this opportunity! This past year has been filled with incredible opportunities to grow as a student, leader, and follower of Christ.
Through COALSFX, I had the opportunity to serve as a leader within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and build relationships with other students who share my passion for agriculture. I was also grateful to represent the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences as a member of the recruitment team, where I had the opportunity to share my experiences at Texas A&M and encourage prospective students to consider the College of Ag.
My church, Grace Anderson, has also been a huge part of my first year in College Station, providing me with a church family and opportunities to continue growing in my relationship with Christ. I was also blessed to be a part of Freshman Leaders in Christ (FLiC), where I grew deeper in my faith while serving students and different areas of the Texas A&M and College Station communities.
One of my favorite opportunities of the summer was serving as an Impact Camp counselor, where I was able to pour into the incoming Class of 2030 and help them begin their own journey at Texas A&M.
Alongside all of these opportunities, I worked hard in the classroom and was excited to finish my freshman year with a 3.9 GPA. Looking back on my first year, I am incredibly thankful for all of the people, experiences, and opportunities that God has placed in my life. I am especially grateful to the Collins 8 Foundation for investing in me and helping make my time at Texas A&M possible. I am excited to see what God has in store for the years ahead!”
