I recently came across the concept of the "twiddle m**f" while searching for a pattern to make my Memere a m**f to keep her hands warm. Suffering from Alzheimer's herself, I wanted to give the twiddle m**f pattern a try, thinking it would not only keep her hands warm, but also occupy her hands and mind when she is lost in her own thoughts and needs comfort or is fidgeting, putting holes in blanket

s, picking, and rolling up tissue after tissue in her hand. Her "twiddle m**f" gives her hands a place to be and a purpose. I am so thrilled with how much she loves it and admires it I have to share their effectiveness and make more and give them to others suffering. Here's how it works- with every 2-3 m**fs or blankets purchased, one will be locally donated to Alzheimers or dementia sufferers, either home bound or residents in assisted living and nursing homes. One day I hope to donate a m**f or blanket for EACH one purchased. My hope is to start with those who do not have family or visitors first, those that need the most comfort and need a handmade, crocheted piece of art made with love. Other "non-twiddle" items for sale will have 100% of the proceeds donated to the Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimers Association.
