On behalf of the staff, cast, crew, and families of TYSCT, I want to extend our deepest thanks for the generous grant we received this year. Your support made a true difference, not only in the success of our production but, more importantly, in the lives of the young people who participated.
This summer’s production of High School Musical was a tremendous success—we sold 1,294 tickets, with a cast and crew of 135 youth ages 5–18, including several participants with special needs. We were also supported by countless community volunteers who gave their time and energy to bring this show to life. While those numbers tell one part of the story, the real impact of your grant goes far beyond the statistics.
The equipment we were able to purchase with your funding directly enhanced the experience for our performers. One story that stands out is that of a young boy who has a hearing loss. He often struggles with group activities and tends to withdraw when he cannot hear directions. His mother asked if we could find a way to support him. Thanks to the new keyboard and microphones we purchased through your grant, he was able to follow along with the music, and gain the confidence to fully participate. He not only performed beautifully on stage but also told his mother afterward that he wants to be in another play. For him, this summer was transformative—and without the technology your grant provided, this moment might not have been possible.
This is just one of many stories that highlight the life-changing impact your generosity has on our young performers. From all of us at TYSCT—staff, families, and especially the kids—thank you for opening doors, building confidence, and creating opportunities that will last long after the curtain closes.
