🇺🇸 169th Catch-Up – What We've Been Up To! 🇺🇸
43rd Infantry Division, 169th Regiment (Re-Enacted)
It’s been a busy spring for the men and women of the 169th!
Over the past several weeks we've been hard at work continuing our mission to Honor the Past and Educate the Future.
📍 School of the Soldier – May 9th
We held our School of the Soldier training day bringing together Army, Marine, and Airborne reenactors for a full day of instruction including close order drill, soldier skills, weapons handling, leadership development, and live fire training. A great day of learning, camaraderie, and sharpening our impressions.
🏛️ Tolland Military Museum
Our members have also been busy helping expand and improve the Tolland Military Museum, where we now serve as keyholders and continue working to preserve and display military history for the public. New displays, restoration projects, and exhibit improvements are underway—and we’re always looking for volunteers and donations to help the museum grow.
🪖 Research & Living History
Behind the scenes, we continue researching the history of the 169th Infantry Regiment and preparing new educational programs and presentations—including ongoing work highlighting the New Georgia Campaign and the Battle for Munda Airfield, helping preserve the stories of the men who fought there.
🚙 Restoration & Displays
Members have also been busy with vehicle and equipment projects—including the preservation and display preparation of a remarkable 1942 Ford GPW barn-find jeep with local history tied back to Fort Devens.
✈️ Looking Ahead – WWII Weekend at the New England Air Museum
Planning continues for WWII Weekend at NEAM – August 29–30, 2026 in Windsor Locks, CT. We’re working hard with participating units and museum staff to build what we hope will become one of New England’s premier WWII living history events.
As always, we thank everyone who supports what we do—our members, veterans, museum supporters, and the public who continue to encourage us.
Interested in joining us? We welcome military and civilian impressions alike.
Honor the Past. Educate the Future.
