Toledoans For Safe Water Preventing Toxic Algae Blooms at the Source Algal blooms have been plaguing Ohio's waterways, steadily increasing since 2009.

There have been many red flags to indicate we need to rein in factory farm pollution, including the closure of Grand Lake St. Mary's in 2011, but Toledo's August 1, 2014 water ban that left nearly half a million without water was the worst.
