At just 16 years old, Bohlale Mphahlele turned her concern over gender-based violence into a life-saving innovation. 🇿🇦✨

The young engineer created the "Alerting Earpiece," a discreet device that captures an attacker’s image and sends real-time GPS coordinates to authorities. Today, Bohlale is a global leader in tech, advocating for sustainable development and proving that Gen Z isn't just waiting for change - they’re building it. 🏛️💻 From a high school science project to the world stage, her journey is a powerful reminder that one brilliant idea can change the world. 🌍💪

Members and guests of the Zonta Club of Toledo convened this afternoon for a festive Ugly Sweater Holiday Party and educational discussion on supporting the initiative to raise the minimum marriage age in Ohio to 18 years.

Members of Zonta Club of Toledo packed 50 Beloved Bundle backpacks containing clothing and toiletry items for survivors of sexual assault as part of Zonta International's 16 Days of Activism project.

The items will be distributed by SANE nurses at Mercy Health-St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. The backpacks and items were provided by Project Beloved: The Molly Jane Mission, a non-profit organization that empowers survivors of sexual assault to find their voices.

Zonta Club of Toledo held its October meeting at Inspiration Kitchen on the campus of Lott Industries in Toledo. Director Saundra Irvine shared with us how the systems-driven culinary workforce development training program acts as a catalyst for employment opportunities. Inspiration Kitchen provides a hands-on immersion program for at-risk, low-income adults. Thanks Saundra for a very informative evening.
