The Village Players Theatre

The Village Players Theatre Incorporated in 1956, The Village Players Theatre has evolved over the years into a friendly, open, 165-seat, all-volunteer, community theatre. November 1st.

The Village Players is mostly a volunteer-run organization, from the people who are at the ticket counter, and run the lights, sound, and stage crew, to the actors and directors. If you're interested in volunteering at The Village, please e-mail our Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected]

We accept submissions for shows all year 'round, these go to our "Play-Reading Committee" who sift through and read every single show. is the cut-off date for submission. Normally, at our December/January board meeting, the "Play-Reading Committee" submits its selections for the next year as well as the shows that weren't selected. Then comes the hard part. The board re-hashes all the work that the committee did and comes to a final consensus on the next season. If you have seen a show that you think we could pull off, heard of one you'd like to see done, or written one you'd like performed, or you have an interest in directing at The Village Players, please don't hesitate to contact. We shall be happy to put it up for consideration.

Have you ever wanted to direct a show? Don't forget to submit to the Village Players' 2026-2027 Directors Series! Last day to submit is December 31, 2025.

Ideal project candidates will:
-Submit a script that is usually not selected for a mainstage production due to style or content
-Be well-suited for a blackbox style production
-Be available for a "low and slow" rehearsal process--a few rehearsals per week, 11-12 weeks
-Perform in Dec 2026, Feb 2027, and/or July 2027
-Include opportunities for artists new to VP or underrepresented in VP's typical season
