DogworksOhio Dogworks is an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit organization based in Toledo, OH. Our purpose is to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Rehome dogs.

All dogs are located in foster homes throughout the hour radius we serve. Dogworks is an all-volunteer, nonprofit group based in Toledo, OH, whose purpose is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abandoned, neglected, and unwanted dogs. Most dogs are rescued from euthanizing shelters, although some come to us from relinquishing owners or other means. All dogs are fostered in volunteer homes until adoption. We do not have a shelter or kennel facility. We strive to rescue as many dogs as we can, but the need for new fosters and volunteers is crucial to our continuing efforts!

💗 SENIOR GIRL ESSIE HAS FOUND HER FOREVER HOME! 💗

Sometimes the sweetest adoptions are the ones that remind us that you’re never too old to find your person. 🥹❤️

Sweet Essie, our senior girl, has found someone to love her and give her a place to call home. Senior dogs have so much love left to give, and we couldn’t be happier that Essie gets to spend her days being loved, spoiled, and cared for just as she deserves.

There’s something extra special about seeing a senior dog get their happily ever after. They deserve soft places to land, gentle hands to pet them, and someone who makes them feel safe and loved. And now, Essie has that. 🐾💕

Congratulations to Essie and her new family! We hope your days together are filled with cuddles, comfort, and all the little moments that make life so special.

❤️ ANNIE’S STORY HAS THE HAPPY ENDING SHE DESERVES! ❤️

When Annie first came to us, she was a very scared girl who had been through more than any dog should have to endure. She arrived after one of our rescue partners responded to a wellness check at a home where Annie and several other dogs were living. The dogs were confiscated, and Annie suddenly found herself in a world that must have felt terrifying and unfamiliar.

She was so frightened that she went on the run for THREE LONG WEEKS before she was finally captured. Can you imagine how scared this girl must have been? 💔

But once Annie was safe, something wonderful started to happen. With patience, kindness, and lots of love from her foster home, she slowly began to feel safe. She was given the time she needed to come out of her shell, and when she was ready, it was finally her turn to find a family of her own.

And guess what? She found her special person! 🥹❤️

Annie, we hope your new life is filled with soft places to land, gentle hands to love you, and the kind of happiness that makes all those scary memories fade away. No more running scared, sweet girl. You’re home now, and you never have to face the world alone again.

💕 MAGGIE MAY IS HOME! 💕

Maggie May’s story started out pretty rough. She was found wandering the streets of Toledo, extremely matted and in desperate need of some TLC. Once she came to Dogworks, we got to work getting her cleaned up, checked out, and feeling better.

She also had some health issues that needed attention, including mammary tumors. It took some time, care, and a little bit of patience, but Maggie got everything she needed to put those tough days behind her. ❤️

Maggie May has found her forever home! 🥰

From being found on the streets in such sad shape to having a family of her very own — this is exactly why we do what we do. We are so happy this sweet girl gets to spend the rest of her life being loved and spoiled the way she deserves. 🐾❤️

Go enjoy your happily ever after, Maggie May! You sure earned it. 💕

We’re looking for some volunteers to help us out with our Dogworks fundraiser on Saturday, October 17th! ❤️

We need help setting up tables and chairs the day before and taking everything down Saturday night after the fundraiser.

✨ BYRDIE IS NOW BINDI! ✨

Sometimes a dog doesn’t need a lot of time… they just need someone willing to give them a chance. ❤️

Bindi came to us after being found as a stray and ending up at one of our local shelters. When she first came into foster care, she was a timid little girl who wasn’t quite sure what to make of all the new people and new experiences around her.

But her foster gave her something she really needed — time, patience, love, and a safe place to just be a dog. 🥰

Little by little, Bindi started to trust. She learned that hands could be gentle, that people could be kind, and that she didn’t have to be scared anymore. Watching her come out of her shell and show the sweet personality hiding underneath has been pretty special. ❤️

And now, we get to share the best part…

Bindi has been adopted! 🎉🐾

She’s officially traded her stray days for a family of her own, and we couldn’t be happier for this sweet girl. Her new name may be Bindi, but the biggest change is that she now knows exactly what it feels like to be loved. 💕

💔 WHY IS NOBODY CHOOSING COPPER? 💔

Seriously… we have to ask.

Copper is 3 years old, a sweet tricolor boy who has so much love to give. He’s been patiently waiting for someone to see what we see in him, and we just don’t understand why that person hasn’t come along yet.

Copper is potty trained, crate trained and leash trained. He knows sit and off, loves going for walks, enjoys getting brushed and is learning that playing fetch is actually pretty fun. Most of all, he loves his people. ❤️

Copper does well with other dogs and would love a doggy friend who is easygoing. He needs a fenced yard and no cats.

We keep wondering what people are missing when they look at Copper. Because we see a dog who deserves someone to finally say, “Yep, you’re my guy.”

He’s been waiting for that person.

🍀 LUCKY REALLY DIDN’T WASTE ANY TIME! 🍀

Lucky hadn’t even been with Dogworks for a whole week when his new family met him and pretty much decided, “Yep… he’s ours!” ❤️

Lucky came to us after his owner passed away. Sadly, there were no family members who were able to care for him, so he found his way to Dogworks hoping for a new beginning.

Well, he didn’t have to wait long! His new family saw something special in this sweet boy, and Lucky is officially home. 🏡

And look at him right there in the middle of the picture! ❤️ Lucky gets to start his new life with two new fur siblings by his side (one a Dogworks alumni Hocus, now Coco on the left), and we think he’s going to fit right in with his new pack. 🐶🐶🐶

Sometimes the stars just line up perfectly… and for Lucky, they certainly did. 🍀🐾

Congratulations, Lucky! We couldn’t be happier that your next chapter came so quickly. ❤️
